What features are missing in the road map?

Generally I like the road map idea and the direction this game is going, although e-sports can be a double edged sword. Also, I expect half of these planned features not seeing the daylight within that time span but it's a good way to test out ideas within the community nonetheless.

The road map interaction currently lacks a proper system to add your own features so this thread is about features you think should be in this 6 month plan.

What I am missing in this plan:
  • Mini map overhaul. This is an important one as it defines your situational awareness, which is super important in this game. The icon spaghetti we're looking at now is borderline useless. At least make it possible to zoom in on the mini map.
  • Secondary objectives/more meta game features. Making this game more meaningful should be way higher on the priority list of the devs. Tons of ideas have been suggested to improve the meta game with relatively little effort. Some of them I would like to see implemented in the coming months.
  • Truly unique, empire specific, primary weapons. The focus on unnecessary and uninspiring weapons like pump action shotguns and heavy pistols is a wrong one. I understand that these are easier to balance and throw into this game but they don't really enrich the game experience that much. Focus on weapons that matter instead.
  • At least an extra continent. This is the bread and butter of this game. I think SOE should at least release 3/4 continents in its first year to keep the game fresh.
What features are you missing in this road map? Please keep it constructive and somewhat realistic: "Add all the features of PS1" is not constructive nor realistic for a 6 month road map.

Yea, mini map overhaul for sure.

My list follows, generally they're rather small buit I think will make things easier.

- Revamp the platoon display on the main screen, rather give an option to display the platoon rather than just the squad.

- Chat and kill spam should persist and not fade away, at the very least give the option.

- Each element on the hud should be toggle-able and movable. Colour options should also be available (depending on the features already expected within the Jan 30th patch).

- Provide a command chat or outfit leadesr chat or something to assist cooperation. Leader chat is not sufficient and niether would a VIOP channel.

- I don't know how to say this properly but the game is not very social outside of outfits as compared to PS1 and the reason is the lack of cr5's and the command channel. Actually, I just think I said it p:

- Talking about VIOP, allow channels to be turned on/off individually without having to delve into the useroptions.ini

- Dynamic base capture and resecure xp

Of course the big deficiencies were about the inter-continental meta game, but we know that's being worked on, it's just a long way away.

To think that PS1 launched with 12 continents and the meta-game was fully formed by the time I joined in 11 months after launch. That won't happen here.

There're many features absent and what's more funny - many features present that do not require any kind of voting.

Like:
Loadout Screen Revamp? (In "we're making it better" context)
Community Grief Reporting?
Improved Item Preview?
Tutorial? - I especially like this one, since every post on the subject gets deleted...
Cert Screen Revamp? (In "we're making it better" context)
Color Blind Support? - This one is the crowning one! Why the heck should we vote for a feature that has NO negative impact on the game at all?
Per Seat Vehicle Locking?

I agree. The voting system is sorta strange in that respect. Why would they allow us to vote on things that we have no say about, or shouldn't have any say about. Like adding in the new continent. Many, if not the most, of what I consider to be really good ideas should really be no brainers and shouldn't require any voting at all.

It lets them get a judge on how they should move forward in the future, but ultimately they will be the ones to make the final decision.

Read carefuly what you're quoting and what it refers to This answer seems rather out of place.

I know, but there are just some tings which shouldn't be voted upon, imo. The game needs more continents, a better tutorial, UI improvements ec. I don't get how players liking the idea is going to change their continent schedule, in the sense that likes shouldn't influence when continents get added.
Things like redoing classes I get. Plugging the windows I get. Achievements I get.

Also there's adding SMG's.

Of course they're going to add new guns, this is the FTP model, they're going to have to keep putting new things in the shop to stimulate revenue.

What is missing?
- Meaningful Benefits for facilities, right now only the Techplant matters
- Means to take those benefits away via sabotage missions
- Tactical objectives for squad sized units in general
- Continent bonusses that matter more, and that make it important to not just zerg counterzerg, but actually defend them, like they have a long warmup time before reaching full effect ( 6 hour period? )

You missed:

Empire Specific Rocket Launchers

We'd like to add Empire-specific rocket launchers, including things like player guided rockets, multiple lock-on swarm missiles, and a charge fire mode into the mix.
And

Faction Pistols

We plan on adding new pistols for each Empire:

TR: Auto-Pistol – A fully automatic pistol.
NC: Scatter Pistol – A shotgun and a pistol had a baby.
VS: Charge Pistol – A pistol with a charge up mechanic; hold down fire and your blast gets stronger until you release it.
