chat box changes / how to report a hacker

My chat box no longer gives the "killed by XXX" "you killed XXX" messages. That sux. When I die, the name flashes briefly in the "you were killed by" graphic and then it's gone forever (unless I'm missing something).

I was just hack-killed by some asshat named "L||II|||!!IIL|" or some impossible to remember crap like that. How can I report him?

Hey mate, good question - luckily the devs came through for us on this one!

If you get killed by a hacker, the next time you spawn immediately type /report

Just that, no name or anything. Only /report

Then it will bring up an interface to report hacking, exploiting, offensive chat, etc. There is a button beside the Character Name field that says "Last Killer". Click it and it will fill in the exact character name of the last person to kill you.

Why have I never heard of this in any forums or in game by word of mouth? A few days ago we had an aimbot sniper and no one could report him due to no one being able to get his name in a click-able area.

Good news is that I managed to counter snipe the aimbot. You can have the best hacks, but if your target can see the bullet coming it's rather easy to sidestep them at great distance.

Ya, I wish it would display who I killed though. When I accidentally kill my teammates, I normally /t playername to tell them sorry if I mistakenly killed them.

Well, that does help, thanks!

I do wish the old messages would come back. I often looked back at who I killed or who killed me.

It still show kills in the chat on any new character you make. But any charater you have since update 2 doesn't.

Not quite true. I get these messages on my VS character, which is the oldest of my three characters. I don't seem to get them on my NC character, which is the youngest (beating out my TR character by a day). All three of these characters existed before GU2.
