Solstice SF + Underbarrel Grenade Launcher + Engineer Class + Drop in on top of tower


This was from earlier last week. Sorry for the quality, it was 23GB and I reduced it too much. 20+ minutes of nade slaugher kill streak.

Wonder how much XP the guy got at the end for killing me?

Do you expect:

1. A compliment or snide remark on being able to get a long killstreak with one shot kill aoe weaponry with infinite ammo and a somewhat poor "I just spam randomly hoping for kills" accuracy, all the while standing still?
2. Remarks that the opposite team are stupid and should have sniped you much earlier?
3. To initiate a discussion about an op weapon combination exploits?
4. To question if you were out of their rendering range?
5. To have people remniscent fondly of a PlanetSide where inventory systems limited players into bringing their own ammo and sharing their own ammo when out, since there was no such bullshit as ammopacks?
6. All of the above?

But this time, only this time, i have to settle with "l2p noobs". I mean, the overall cheapness is very obvious (and that's just the general vibe, not even factoring in this might be a possible exploit of rendering distance),
but if you can pull that off for 20 minutes your opponents must be either blind or dumb.

So if someone does it with a grenade launcher the enemies are stupid, if someone does it with a fighter it's unfair?

Every time I see the underbarrelled grenade launcher all I think of is how stupid it is.

No it isn't the same as a rocket launcher. If someone shoots me in the face with the rocket launcher there is a big bright blowing orange ball that somehow travels slower than the grenade. A Heavy also can't sit in place have unlimited ammo from himself.

Pretty much anytime I see these tools that obviously have no purpose other than easy farming I can't see how SOE thought it was a good idea in this game.

Hey now, the underbarrel grenade launcher has more uses than just farming infantry. I mostly use mine as a demolitions tool to complement my 2x C4, or as a makeshift mortar for suppressing the enemy lines. Considering when I do that i'm using the Solstice, so if I need to kill someone at mid range it makes more sense to just shoot them. Easier to hit with that than the grenade.

Edit: I should say that i'm playing LA when I do this, not engie, and that I do still think the grenade launcher has issues (at the very least, I think they need to stop it resupplying from ammo packs and make people go to terminals/Sundies to get more). I pretty much intentionally don't farm with it, because that's blah, but there is more to it than farming.

That's actually kind of impressive. Having sat up on top of the crown before with my battle rifle I've had long killstreaks. Makes me want to get the grenade launcher just to exploit it like that.
