Hacking is becoming a serious issue in planetside 2 and it is beginning to kill my fun. I consider myself to be a good player (I was the 2nd place auraxis tournament winner), but that doesn't really mean much anymore when 1 out of 10 players are running this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=x-B4gsBsKHk I think we need to be more vocal as a community. The hackers are taking over and ruining the game. They are not the obvious kind; they hack just enough to make it unfair, but don't completely break the game. I thought the days of lame counter-strike hackers were over? Think this is bad, have you played Day Z?
This is one of the curses of Free to Play. Near infinite tries to make hacks and an almost just as unlimited supply of shitheads to pay for them. I do have to say that SOE is doing a hell of a job at fighting them. My advise is to get pissy and punch something when you get mad at hacks. If it gets to bad for ya then quit for the night or week and work on your gaming backlog. I got 60+ games in my backlog just this console gen and the crap I got in steam sales. But there are so many things to do and the greatness of a few games keep making that list longer. I get pissed at hacks, but at the same time it's an excuse to freshen up the waters so to speak by dipping into other games. |

Well, i don't know about Sardus... but this is the only game i want to play right now. I don't want to play the millions of games on steam that i have bought in past sales and never played.
I saw 2 hackers today playing NC on Briggs. One on TR and one on NC. They were both blatantly hacking. I never hackusate people, so i won't comment on these sneaky hackers or those that i simply find suspicious, however i can definitely say that i saw two blatant hackers over a few hours, both speed-hacking and flying/no-clipping. That to me is far too common. Of course it could be suggested that for every blatant hacker you see, there are [insert arbitrary, non-researched statistic] more sneaky ESP and Aimbot hackers, who you don't see! |

The problem is that the Pro7 EU GMs. And i know this as a fact have no tools to combat hackers.
This is what they must do. Currently. Player [A] is Reported. GM looks at this. Looks at PSU stats to see what server they are on. GM makes a character on that server, And log on. They have limited commands. Such as Invisibility or follow. Like spectate. Now this is the shocking Part. GM Has to Record the player and upload it to a private youtube channel! Then that has to be passed over to SOE to ban that account... This is why it takes ages for bans to take effect. I am not sure how SOE GMs are set up but i presume its the same measures. Its a Joke. All GMs should have accounts specific for GM roles. And with evidence. And the Nod from a senior GM that person should be banned. I know SOE are working on these tools. But they should of had these set up from day 1. 1 GM told me. Its heart breaking following these hackers. And i cant do anything about it! Also. SOE have some type of stat set up to auto ban people. Hense the mass bans recently and allot of legit players got banned. I heard it was tied to high kill streaks. But that's a rumour i heard.

The only bright side I see is that I only come across about one blatantly cheating fuck a week or so. |

He never did, he just tweeted some mean things to scare off the gullible ones. As a matter of fact the system right now does not work as intended because cheaters can run around for hours with many hundreds of tickets until they get banned. This has to stop, if somebody gains mass tickets in a short period of time it should not take more than 30 minutes until some GM makes the decision to ban or not to ban someone.
If there is a guy cheating on your server during a whole session of multiple hours despite having hundreds of tickets it's just very annoying and it's SOE's responsibility to prevent stuff like that. .sent via phone.

There needs to be something hard-coded into the game to detect aimbots and the like. It simply takes way too long for a GM to find a hacker, and many of them still go unnoticed.
In my opinion this should be priority #1 for SOE. Hacking will kill this game. And its only getting worse, every night. |

Here is the real problem. Users think that there is someway to stop hackers before it happens. This will never be the case. Ever. Last edited by MrBloodworth; 2013-02-20 at 11:16 AM. |

Aye, so far the best we can hope for is the devs being able to limit the amount of hackers.

Especially the ones with the no recoil aimbot. Man I love blowing those people up with claymores, because they are too stupid to win without their hacks. Of course it's only a matter of time before the hackers figure out how to blow those up safely without having to, god forbid, think about it.
It gets pretty tiring to defend a base with claymore alone, because the attackers have perfect aim from across the base and 1/8th of a second TTK, with NC weapons, every encounter... Though it is pretty funny that they're hacks can't compensate for their epic amounts of stupidity and lack of awareness. Lol... |

Maybe its because i'm playing at off prime time for the most part but are people really seeing that many hackers? And is it to a game breaking extent?
I have seen a few that I thought were pretty sketchy but I couldn't chalk it up to skill. I still have yet to run into game breaking types like I have in most other games. Especially PS1 had a few hacks that 1 hacker really could shut down the fight for 100's. All of the /Yell hackusations i've seen in game I trust almost none of them... especially some outfit wide hackusations that from what I an tell is basically a group of good players using *gasp* organization and teamwork that multiplies their effectiveness. Although there is an outfit i've fought against some that it is hard to not think hacks because they are known to have members who are known to troll games with hacks just for the troll of it. |
