Saying "Good Bye"

Well, I don't really need to say it, but I will anyway.

The game is raw and unattractive long-term. There was some hope for the six month plan, but it doesn't include enough of the vital solutiuons to make the game better, and now I finally give up. I tried Crysis 3 Multiplayer, and, excuse me, but Crysis 3 CTF (Capture The Relay for that matter) is more fun to play, than PlanetSide 2.

Perhaps my feedback on what I dislike, aswell as the things I like will help in some way:

Dislike:
  • Solo MBTs
  • Absent limit for vehicles (Be it unlimited CP, low vehicle prices, bad landscape/building designs, forcing spam, it all contributes)
  • Unlimited customization
  • Unlimited CP
  • Bad base/tower/outpoist designs (too much open space)
  • Defensible Crown vs Non-defensible pretty much everything (like towers with 1 point inside a tower for defenders to defend and 2 for attackers to take)
  • Overabundance of capturable territory
  • Landscape (In its widest meaning - like The Bastion's wall that doesn't makee any strategical sense)
  • Significant bugs with every patch
  • Money grabbing by invisible pay to win
  • Liberators with artillery cannons
  • Too much flak
  • Lacking linearity in continent capture
  • Unzoomable minimap
  • Lack of desire to fix main problems first (six month plan reference)
  • Command being a squad/platoon-leader prerogative instead of dedicated people (just for the note - two-man squads also have squad leaders)
  • As a result of many things, the game doesn't generate different situations all the time. So in short it's zerg zerg zerg.

Like:
  • Visual Designs (except for camos)
  • TTK and game pacing
  • Vivox
  • Shredder Liberator
  • Many small things (There're many small things I like, and there's even a saying that it's small things that matter, but I'm afraid it only applies to when the general architecture is more or less complete)

I'm upset to post it, but since this is the place where most people know me, I must say "Good bye and see you no less than year after!" first. (I will still be lurking the forums, so don't forget to post news )

To SOE: I hope you spend my bucks wisely.

Did it once, stopped playing after that.

Welcome to my boat. Please, do sit down and grab that oar over there. It's a bit crowded here but we'll manage. Now, since we're probably going to be spending a lot of time out on the PSU ocean I just want to mention that... What happens in the boat stays in the boat. Wink wink, nudge nudge. And please no cannibalism until at least seven days out.

NewSith, I think a post like this is best for the official forums. To me it's nothing short of someone saying I'm taking my ball and going home......the game will go on without you...Best of luck to you playing whatever you find out there..

The game is going to change with continental conquest. I hope you come back when it does.

I haven't played since December but I agree with a lot of this from back then. Most of them points seems to be why everyone I know has quit too.

Too many games this year anyways, very easy ignore Planetside 2 unlike the barren year of last. I've just finished Ni No Kuni, have Sim City, ArmA 3 Alpha and Tomb Raider to play for the coming month and on top of that Bioshock. I'm sure there is much much more, Dayz SA will take hundreds of hours away once that is released as well.

No one ever really quits. See you when you get back and with luck (and a whole fuckton of hard work, mostly on SOE's part) it'll be so much more than what you could ever hope for.

I get why you are quitting, I'm pretty much there with you I only log in to check the daily deals lol. Mainly waiting for more content cause right now I'm bored with the whole check map see fights on Indar only, log out shortly after. To much of the same. Until they get some type of conquest metagame in its going to be Indarside.

Just thought i'd quote this again, so maybe Matt will take notice.

Well said, good post.

Planetside 2 could have been a great game.

Funny how all the best parts from PS1 weren't included.

It sucks when good people go away. Take care, NewSith!

Ps. Perhaps you'll come back now and then to "shoot doods and blow stuff up", despite the grievances, as I still do? Not entirely sure why I still play some times actually...
