Why did they remove the color from player icons on the main map? They went from green, brown, purple, etc. to all grey. As a platoon leader it's now impossible to tell who is where, making the leader's job more difficult (which #3 AWOL at The Crown??).
I thought this was a bug from the latest update that would quickly get fixed, but now I hear that it was intentional?! In what sense could this be considered an improvement? |

I will try to confirm this, I hope you are correct and it gets fixed soon. What I heard was from another player who said they submitted a ticket on this and the response was "that's how it's supposed to be now." I'll see if I can get a look at the actual ticket and response.

To be honest I think the minymap is to cluttered as it. In a base or just a small outpost my map is filled with icons all over. Don't even use it and rely on my ears for footsteps and gunfire, if some jackass doesn't have an open mic that is. |

The squad number colours bug is MASSIVELY damaging to platoon-level play. There is now almost no way of knowing whether the individuals in your platoon are following orders, hence no way of enforcing discipline, and therefore no way of coordinating troop movements. It's an absolute mess and it is killing the game, particularly for the serious, larger outfits.
I've posted repeatedly on the SOE forums about this issue and there's been no response. Hoping it'll be fixed in this new patch, but SOE doesn't seem to be interested in fixing broken stuff anymore. |
