The Lasher, Jackhammer and MCG.

Anyone else finding these weapons a little lacking?

I've only used the Lasher, but it seems to be worse at every range compared to any LMG. Even if it seems to fire spheres of dubsetp (wub wub wub wub).

I don't think I've ever been killed with a Jackhammer, and I can remember being killed with an MCG once.

Where did it all go wrong?

I've found the Lasher useful in two situations - holding the stairs in a tower defense, and providing supporting dps from one of the skybridges in a biolab. Beyond that, I generally agree with your Lasher assessment. Anecdotally, I see MCGs all the time on my death screen, so someone's clearly enjoying them. I'm not sure I've ever seen a jackhammer in the field.

I've used all 3 of them and from experience the MCG is the easiest to use effectively I can get the most kills in a row with it. The jackhammer can kill super fast but it needs way more clips of ammo to carry along with it only gives you like 3 its kinda annoying having to find an engineer after 3 reloads. Also the lasher is average id say i can get kills with it but it's seems to be missing something. Maybe more damage per shot or turn the speed of the projectiles up. This goes along with the PPA cannon on the tank as well it needs more damage or faster projectiles.

MCG is used in the same situations. Its not really a gun you can "React" fire with.

Lasher is the best gun for killing VS

Jackhammer was actually good after they fixed it, except they added pump shotguns.

I find the Jackhammer, compared to the oneshot/two shot auto shots and pumps the other factions use, doesn't compete. It's just not accurate enough, it kicks so hard in hipfire that you cant land reaction shots. I have killed with it a little but I find it more and more useless against the other shotguns. The VS shotgun kills you so quick you can't blink, 2 accurate shots to the face with high refire. Same with TR. NC you hit the first and usually miss the second or die before you line it up.

I haven' t used the other weapons. I see lashers around and they are pretty dangerous sometimes I have died from them before. I rarely see the TR chaingun around anymore, saw it once or twice. If it has to spin up it's pointless for infantry I think, anything that spins up can only be long range as reactive fire is a big thing in PS2 and CQ and spin up just doesn't work that well.

Depends how long it takes I haven't used it so I might be talking crap lol.

I've used the MCG for suppressing fire in a couple situations, mostly in the vicinity of a Biolab's SCU Shield Gen. I use the AMR-66 much more often tbh.
They're not the straight up murder machines they used to be, that's for sure.

I didnt much care for the lasher at first, but it's growing on me. It is definitely not an LMG, and you can't play it like one, but it can be a beast at choke points.

If I could swap the rocket launcher for any other weapon, I would totally pack a Lasher + Shotgun/LMG.

So true!

I can't remember getting killed by a Jackhammer and occasionaly notice an MCG about but I usually see a lasher here and there in most fights. I've got some pretty satifying kills with a Lasher but mostly only use it when defending a tower. LMGs are just way more effective for every empire and easier to use.

The Lasher only needs more damage on direct hit to reward you for successfully aiming slow projectiles. In any case, keep the skill ceiling and potential high so that I am rewarded for using it well.

EDIT: And lower the friendly fire on splash damage. It just can't be avoided sometimes.

Sometimes you get engaged in close quarters and I think it's fair to ask that your gun not inflict so much damage to yourself.

Sorry if I was inanely confusing.

Splash damage is a hell of a drug.

The Lasher is the only Heavy weapon worth buying. It's the only one that actually fills a role anymore. That being suppressive fire. You can hold whole groups at bay firing it at doorways.

The MCG is now pointless since your better off with the large mag SMG's for all your hip firing spray an pray needs. No crippling spin up time.

Jackhammer also pointless as the Pump Shotguns are the best shotguns by a huge margin. Must be embarrassing for an NC with Jackhammer to get smoked by a TR/VS with a pump shotty. Oh how the once mighty kings of CQC have fallen
