Lore - Faction Leaders

Quick lore question: Is there anything that mentions who the faction leaders are in the lore?

Not that I can see. The only named people lived about 200 some odd years before the war broke out and, if Im reading this right, well before the rebirthing tech was made (respawning). So from the wiki linked on PSU I can't find any true leaders of the factions that can be alive during this war.

From reading the 3 factions pages and the lore page in the wiki it seems like the lore isn't flushed out all to well. It has good stories for the wormhole event and up to the finding of the planet, but after that it's 3 takes of history from 3 completely different points of view and none seem to agree on anything.

Sound about right to be honest. Some say war stands for We Are Right and who wins the war gets to wright the history books. So during said war it's any mans guess at what the truth is.

I think they mention Henry Briggs as the founder if the Vanu Sovereignty. For the others I don't know.

It's in the lore. But he committed "suicide" in year 2660 and can't the martyr for the VS if respawn tech was around then. So he should be dead dead and so is any other named person that I can remember as the "now" in game is 200 years after that in year 2845.

I can't think of anyone being named after that suicide so as far as I can tell there are no named leaders. Just named groups and factions.

I agree that we need more personable characters in the lore to lead each faction. Or inspirational heroes from each faction. I think that I would feel a bit more part of the game if I felt more connected to a particular faction through the lore

Well as some if the servers have been named after these named people maybe if someone writes some more lore they use the server names for inspiration.

I think there should certainly be more reference to the likes of the TR Council the NC and VS leaderships and somemore on the ideals and driving forces of them. I seem to remember radant did an amazing movie on the old ps1 test server but I'm on my phone and can't look properly so if anyone can search it out and link it. Its something I think should g down as lore not a fan video.

For the Vanu Sovereignty, the leader is Chairman Willis Scott.

depends on if the suicide was final, he might have been having his mad scientist moment with rebirth tech. He was the first of stinking VS after all

Appreciate all the replies, especially yours Chewy.

My main concern was whether Provisional Commander Brent Waterson was still alive and in command of the Terran Republic. It was leaving a bit of a poor taste in my mouth about the faction and my ability to get into playing it since he was the one who killed off Connery. If he's dead, then at least I can imagine that someone a bit less traitorous and evil is at the reigns now.

It seems we have 3 names for the factions that are around for the wars start.

Chairman Willis Scott, for VS
Spokeswoman Diane Draper, for NC
Spokesman George Harris, for TR

It looks as Will Scott could very well be the VS current leader as KaskaMatej said, but we only have representatives for NC and TR who are (in order) Diane Draper and George Harris. Although those 2 may not be the real leaders, seeing how they where chosen to represent their factions they must each be a high ranking officer.

Those 3 named people could very well be the 3 voices we hear in attacking/defending bases. So if not true leaders, I think it might be safe to call them a high command equal to our generals of today and may very well be the ones in charge of the war efforts.

In all seriousness though, the fact that the VS and TR leaders are male and the NC one is female lends credence to them being the VOICES.
