I have a 25$ gift certificate for Gamestop and I was going to buy points for PS2 or another game but they have none of them points cards for any games I play for online sale. So I started looking at their headphones.
Question is. For the 100 ish and lower, 150 at most(I'll probly spend less but I'm curious about the range. That Or I'll just save up some cash etc.), what are good headphones. I'm far to unfamiliar with determining quality of audio electronic devices, so.... I'm starting with these as an example: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/acc...productDetails Has no conversion for digital and surround? Could I just use my plain Audigy 2 ZS Platinum pro board to give them surround? They sell a digital converter but I'm curious if you need the digital converter? Does it have the ability to plug into the multiple speakers jacks or gain the benefits without the extra hardware somehow? I never was able to buy the add-on digital converter that went with the Gigaworks 7.1 speakers. Also saw these: http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/...-effect/100028 but for some reason they make me a little paranoid.... Last edited by Ait'al; 2013-03-19 at 09:30 AM. |

Are Either of those any good? Anyone have any experience with them? what is the down sides upsides? Anything?
I'm going to buy them on game stop probably just because i have the gift card so I'm looking to see if any of those are good. "crosses fingers" Or if anything they have is good enough to buy. |

I wouldn't waste additional money on either of those headsets. Both of them were made with consoles in mind.
Also I highly doubt you would ever find any quality headsets, actually worth the price, at Gamestop Won't be hard finding something better suited for PS2 outside of Gamestop, if you're interested.

Of course it depends on whether or not you want that simulated surround sound i.e. whether you want a headset or a pair of headphones.
For headsets: The Gamecom 780 is cheap and good, from what I've read. For headphones: I'll just repost this first.
Audio-Technica ATH-M40FS If you want a mic I would recommend going for this, have one myself. Zalman-Zm-Mic1 I'm sure the others here can give you some more advice on cheapish headphones. Might also want to check out this site: http://www.head-fi.org/f/4/headphones-full-size

I have Logitech g930's, and I really like them. The only down side is that they can only ever be used on PC, as it uses software to do the simulated surround sound (which it does very well.) I got mine for $100, but the price fluctuates. Also, some routers seem to interfere with them (my Belkin N does, but my old G doesn't, but both routers are a few years old.)

I had.. I forget the model number, but it was meant for PS3, and had a USB for the mic and a standard headphone jack for the headset itself (Since PS3s refuse to output non-chat sound through USB, you had to use a Red/White to headphone jack adaptor). Actually was really good for the price I got it at, with seperate analogue dials for game and microphone sound (so I had TS3 and Vent run though the USB instead of the jack, which really helped withe the whole Game/chat volume discrepancies), as well as a pretty decent bass boost dial. Plus it had a nice, sturdy chord that didn't tangle or coil in cold weather. Basically what I'm saying is, if the price is right, and you don't mind stereo instead of surround, you could do worse than Turtle Beach.
Actually really miss that headset. I got a much more expensive one later and gave the PSx21 to my brother, and naturally he managed to break the thing within a week, and my expensive headset apparently has serious issues with the wire coiling in awful ways during cold, and being in New York during winter..... LINK EDIT: Found it, although it a bit pricier that I got it for. Got it at a local shop for around $50 instead of the $80 they want on the site.
