One thing I have always wondered and never seen a confirmation on is how the two affect each other, or which trumps which.
Anyone know for sure? If someone has Rank 2 in Stealth and another person Rank 2 in Scout Radar do they cancel each other out or does Stealth always trump Scout Radar regardless of the number of ranks you have in it? You'd hope that the person with the higher rank gains the advantage, and that in the case of equal ranks both would be on equal footing, but based on my experience I have the feeling stealth trumps and that Scout Radar specifically only works against non-stealth vehicles. Are you referring to on the flash or just in general?
The flash has many many levels of vehicle stealth, and the more and more leveled up, that just makes the lockon time longer. The first rank is the only one which removes its ability to be seen on the map. I don't think that scout radar detects stealth flashes. With the cloak though, that allows it be completely undetectable. Last edited by ThatGoatGuy; 2013-04-09 at 03:44 PM. |

He's referring to whether a vehicle with "vehicle stealth" in the defense slot would show up on the minimap of players with a "Scout radar"-equipped vehicle nearby.
It would definitely be nice to have a strong enough stealth counteract the scout radar detection. The only thing that kinda breaks it that Vehicle stealth has many more levels than the Scout Radar. But currently, if Scout Radar detects stealth vehicles at all, the level of stealth will not matter. Because SOE never does more than they have to with that kind of stuff. Tl;Dr: I think no, but would be nice. |

Just in general as multiple vehicles have this option though the flash is the more widely used in both departments.
So is stealth trumped by Scout Radar then? Sorry, Ninja, been a long day and your answer is unclear for this tired brain. |

My understanding is that vehicles with stealth, of any level, won't show up unless spotted with 'q'.

Thanks Rbstr. That was my feeling as well, though I hoped otherwise. Everything should have a counter. The counter for stealth should be the improved radar, but knowing stealth trumps radar, opens up some different gameplay for me.

A little unrelated, but as somebody who hunts infils a lot with scout radar on the flash and scythe, I think they need a little extra help. It's getting a little too easy to track them down. I don't think infiltrators should show up on scout radar unless they're running.
On a separate note, why do infiltrators have the loudest class-ability? It's also pretty easy to hunt them down as infantry, with a good set of headphones. |

Biggest pet peeve. Nothing like announcing yourself to anyone nearby when you cloak or decloak. IMO its the most assinine thing involving infiltrators a stealth class that annouces its stealth when it is used or wears off. At close range its more of a pseudo cloak. Smaller engagements are worse for inclose infiltrator havoc as there are less sounds of combat and bodies to cover the noise.

Rules: As long as you're outside, your worry is being seen, not heard. As long as you're inside, your worry is being heard, not seen. Suggestion: Have an option to decloak more slowly but at reduced volume, so that you use your cloak to get behind enemy lines, and decloak slowly in cover, to emerge silent as a wraith. Half volume at 5 seconds, silent at 10 seconds spent decloaking? |
