The MCG has it uses I suppose. But yes, besides the Lasher both the MCG and Jackhammer have equivalents that can perform the same task just as effectively if not more so.

The Lasher actually have a unique niche - mybe you dont like it but that much better than the Jackhammer which just plain worse than the pumps.

The jackhammer is outclassed by most other shotguns in the game, PLUS its limited so only 1 class can even use it

I singlehandedly schooled a TR squad with a Lasher on my VS alt on Indar awhile back. The only thing wrong with the Lasher is that too few of you have it.

Because of the overly sensitive crowd. Those weapons would be hard to balance and that would obviously lead to many threads about overpoweredness.

I found the MCG not bad, seems much better in GU06 then previous GUs. With extended mags and a burst fire it can kill pretty good.. But with the spin up time you might aswell go with a LMG.

I noticed in VR the otherday the Jackhammer has a 3round burst mode that shoots slower then manually pressing LMB 3 times and doesnt provide any benefit over single shot. The PS1 jackhammer had 3 round burst yes?

The problem is that the t9 carv s with extended mags, makes much more dps in the first 4 seconds and got the same ammo pool and smaller recovery time for each burst!
We got a lame lmg, the nc got a lame shotgun and the VS got the only different specific heavy weapon in the game.
But I really don't think I ever died to a Lasher, the damage is too small, the splash mediocre, and dps very low, you can dodge the shots and kill the lasher user easily, also, most VS are hard to see in night fights but the ones using lasher are the first to be spotted and killed.
Sometime I die to a jackhammer, but I die like 200 more times to the pump action shotgun!

Ps: as a minigun lover from planetside 1 I got the t7 on day one of the game using SC, just to discovery it got nerfed really bad from the beta, 20% less dps and less precision, but is still the weapon I got more kills, now that we got the precision back, I am aiming to get auraxis medal with it.
