Hey guys I was wondering what the best NC long range weapon is?
I need to know for both LA and HA. I have only been playing LA so far so I don't know if the HA Gauss Saw default weapon is any good after adding attachments. I want a weapon that has the least recoil after adding attachments and has very good control. I watch BuzzCutPsycho use TMG-50 a lot and I was shocked by how little to no recoil it had. Is there something equivalent in NC? I was very impressed with TMG-50. Thanks |

Fully certed Gauss Saw is the king of LMG's at distance. GU08 might tweak that a lil.
Light Assault doesn't really have a 'good' long range option since carbines are close quarter weapons by nature. I believe one of the NS carbines is a decent long range choice. |

Use the certed SAW (default weapon), and for LA, you aren't really gonna be at long distance shooting, so your best close range weapon is the GD-7F, so I suggest that. It's basically like a better version of the Jaguar for the TR.
SAW: Adv forward grip and compensator, sight is personal preference. GD-7F: Adv laser sight, and really just a sight. Suppressor if you want to be stealthy, which is fairly good when you are outnumbered. |

I find the default carbine, the AF-19, quite a decent weapon at medium range (but not long; that's not what carbines are for). I use the forward grip to reduce horizontal recoil, and, once you get used to it, it is possible to compensate for the vertical recoil by shifting your aim downwards slowly. Not a bad weapon at all.
Edit - I use the 2x zoom optic with the red dot. Recoil just seems crazy at higher magnifications. Last edited by psijaka; 2013-05-01 at 02:12 PM. |

Yeah, Saw is good at long ranges for it's 167 min dmg which is most other LMG's max dmg. You will be firing it in one shot bursts at ranges of 70M plus.
My personal favorite LMG is the EM6 for the 2 shot burst it has for long ranges. As far as carbines go you definitely do not want the GD7F for Long range engagements. The NC11 is an accurate carbine if a little weak and my favorite here is either the default mercenary or the Gauss Compact S which behaves like the mercenary but has a wider range of attachments and a straight vertical recoil. PLus I mean, can't go wrong with a noobtube. *EDIT* After taking any sights I had off the SAW, I find myself a lot more accurate with it.. Stupid red dots..! Next patch is going to nerf the shit out of NC's long-range advantage by introducing scope sway to 6x scopes. I would have suggested AC-X11 and NC6 Gauss SAW, but you'll be forced into a 4x scope if you want to hit anything as of GU08. So essentially you are nailed to medium range. Better off keeping the Mercenary and buying GD-22S.
As it is currently though, the AC-X11 is a boss at long-range engagements. Last edited by AThreatToYou; 2013-05-01 at 03:15 PM. |

Everyone seems to disregard the EM1. I love that gun.
Also, if you're fighting at ranges of greater than 50m out, get a fucking sniper rifle.

At range it'll suffer even more than others plus a lack of HV ammo makes for a sad candidate in long range engagements, and while you could grab a sniper rifle that would require running back to the sunderer or terminal or wherever you may happen to be. Most players won't do that as they'll be at the next base in another moment or so, I don't think the OP is asking for a weapon to sit up on ridges with and camp, could be wrong on that as well though. I think he just wants a weapon that can still do some damage at the longer ranges. |

The GD-7F is maybe the worst long range weapon NC has for any class. And tomorrow it will be even worse. The best choice is either the Razor or the AC-X11. Theres no point in going into detail though since the details all change tomorrow.

I clearly did NOT say it was good at long range. I simply implied that he won't really be in LRC as a LA, and for CQC this is your best option. |

I just love the ER6 in all situations. Even with highspeed mun and silencer it's long range capable enough.
The Warden is probably the most underestimated weapon. My engineer is the most annoying thing for enemy infiltrators. With ammo-packs and high ground... simple, effective. On both guns the 4x trueshot will do everything you need. |
