The Render is buged. HOW TO FIX FPS. (for me at least)

This is something I've just noticed works. For 6-4 main "patchs" you'd have noticed back then you got a decent FPS. however something happened and now you may get 12-20 FPS.

The funny thing is, no matter how much you change your setting (high or low) you still get around the same FPS.

The fix is to simply wait till AFTER your game has first loaded (10-30 seconds.) then change your render by 1% to force the game to reload it.

When I do this, I go from 15 fps to over 100. Now when teleporting or leaving the area (so you have to load again) you'll have to repeat this if it goes back to the low fps again.

Some will have to deal with a low render option but still have to "reload" the render as per above.

This tells me that at least some of the problem with the games performance is related to poor optimization of the render.

Nice, I'll have to try this when I get the chance.

Oh. I actually came here to see if other people were having my Issue, FLYING TEXTURES, and if they had a proper fix for it.

Luckily I do not suffer from epileptic fits.

Or just install the Skyrim patches.

There is another thread with the flying textures. It was that dude that spams multiple videos in the forums throughout the day that he creates... the one with the flying shapes was something about his Infiltrator on drugs i think.

Anyway, someone else had a screen shot they captured with the same type of image and it wasn't video card issues related.

Last night I did have an artifact issue happen that looked a lot like something you might see if your card was overheating, but my card wasn't overheating. It was in the 60c area and should be safe all the way up to 80c. It didn't happen again that night, but it scared the crap out of me.

Edit-
Here is the thread with the video of flying textures. http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...ad.php?t=54891

Firstly, if there's an option below Lowest that you want to show me, I'd gladly pick it. I might even get a stable framerate out of it.

Secondly, no random geometric shapes. No moons. Let me be more elaborate.

Imagine you took every polygon in the world, and slapped them all into a room. Then you heat the room and spin the whole room around at a hundred miles per hour speed at the outside. Then you walk into the room.

You can literally see nothing because there are are lines, edges, and everything changing every frame. It will drive you into epileptic fits. It's related to facilities, I think: First time it happened at Snowshear, another time at Aurora Materials, and only when I got near and was looking in the direction of the facility.

However I found that moving render quality away from 75% (where it seems to reset itself with every login) in ANY direction will immediately make this problem disappear.

So do you mean that if someone gets low fps when they first get into the game after patch or something? Never seen that happen.

But I will try this fix if there's still problems with performance degrading over time, like has happened a few times.

sometimes my graphics get the creeps, too. i think i know what he means by flying textres. i had it 2 times now. it started with a sunderer i was looking at, it began to rotate and grow and leave copies of itself on its trail. then soldiers and weapons joined in and i couldn´t see anything but giant wildly rotating jitter.
and i had another one, where the world started flickering and disappeared. only the floor and landscape. the soldiers and vehicles remained.

great to know that changing renderquality might reset this, because nothing else does (only restart of game)

i've had the screen of dots, it's supposedly from a particle rendered in a hailstorm turbolaser collision somewhere nearby. (it happens reliably when you're in a lib with a scythe on your tail)

i've also experienced an issue where objects are clearly rendered that seem to be pieces of standard bridgework, like the bridge from crown to palisade, etc. and they seem to be rendered in place of say, particles from an scu meltdown or a vehicle coming apart, and sometimes maybe in place of medic's nanite cloud so that the effect is being wrapped in a swarm of GIANT STEEL BEAMS.

its a lol and it usually goes away pretty fast. but i've seen it a few times and no hardware meltdowns insue.

hardware issue artifacts usually don't look so distinct. its more like the one guy said, random shapes or tears that extend from a normally rendered object into the distance like they grew a giant spike out of them into the far distance.

I will say this will most likely NOT stop the CTD/blue screen (whichever you may get.) after a hour or two after playing. That is a memory leak. However this may get you better framerates.

They are both different matters/problems.

Also if I get a stuck or weird texture this "fix" sometimes fixs it.

As for lowest. You'd need to go into your setting file and set the Textures to 0 to set it to ultra I think.
As long as you have the RAM for it its "uncompressed" which will help greatly.

oh and i had some strange bug where the ammo dispenser symbol from my sunderer chose to stick to somewhere else. it sometimes isn´t located where it should be on the sunderer, but instead i can see a very small and warped version of this decal floating as kind of part of my reticule while gunning on my sundy. very strange.

The first one you mentioned is what happened to me since the last patch and freaked me out that my video card might be over heating. It wasn't overly hot then and now I am my monitors more visible and it hasn't overheated at all even on the near ultra settings. So I think that is just some weird graphic glitch.

The other is more common. The world will flash in and out of existence while players and vehicles will mostly be visible. That one has been around since beta.
