Startup issue

I got sooo exited for six months of free PS1! Oh boy! I downloaded all the files in the launcher (LaunchPad), but when I click on "Play" the game starts, I hear music. The SOE logo is on the left side of the screen though.
And then I get the rating of the game (Teen). Alright, but then the screen gets stuck there and goes into the left corner of my screen.

(Ignore the webpage in the background, Finnish weather forecast website ^^)

What could I do to get this awesome game working?
Cheers,
Micro

Right click on your PS1 Desktop Icon and go to properties. Make sure you set the compatibility to windows XP Service pack 3. That has fixed it for a lot of people.

Did that but unfortunately it didn't work.

Interesting, I've not seen this issue before. I do notice you have a custom Windows UI though (The taskbar shows a custom Windows start button). Perhaps that is the issue? Just grasping at straws here.

Tried disabling it but no luck.

And you've tried all the typical stuff? Disable as many running programs as possible. Ensure drivers are updated? Try removing un-needed devices from the system?

Yes indeed. I'm just so mad now. Coming home and seeing PlanetSide free for six months! And then not able to play it...

Re: Startup issue

When you disabled the custom Windows UI, does the ratings screen still show in a box, and not full screen? If so, I want to say that the Windows UI is still the cause. I don't know what you are using for it but I thought that sort of thing modifies the Windows UI completely. So perhaps try removing it?

Do you run launchpad as administrator?

The only thing I have modified is the start button, with the software "Start8". I have not modified any other part of the UI.
I have also disabled it but that haven't changed anything. Still the same unfortunately. And yes, still in a box.

See, both those screens should be full screen. I've never seen it in a box. Some kind of display driver issue I think.

Re: Startup issue

So the game starts full screen, and then turns into the box. This is just so weird. I have EVERY customization disabled.
WHAT IS THIS?
I have opened a support ticket with SOE, hope they can help me!
