New continents

It seems to me that the vast majority of players look forward to the Addition of new continents more than anything else.

k.

I agree though, I looked forward to them the most. It's odd that it's what we hear about the least. It's going to be how many years before we catch up to PS1 at this rate? Not something that is fun to think about.

SOE's current plan for the release of Continents is too slow. We need more continents to have a Global Strategy. Global Strategy is what is severely lacking in PS2.

Sorry I didn't get the chance to finish my thoughts but I agree it's not soon enough.
By the way does anyone have any idea what would be the largest cont possible ? Or what Soe is planing as far as larger ones? I could be wrong but I'm hoping Searhurs will be huge.

Agreed, but we also need working Warpgates as well...

...Problem is, I think they MIGHT be aiming to make such a transition "seamless" instead of a pop-up map and loading screen like in the original.

Would sure be great if they had us experience some type of warping animation as we travel through the warpgates.

...What do you mean by this?
Are you suggesting a Stargate style cutscene or an actual in game animation of Character's and Vehicles warping out?

Some sort of short travel experience.

Exactly, each warpgate can have a distinct animation.

Amen to that. It's one of the disadvantages of the F2P model.

jep, as long as we don´t have at least 5 or more continents, there will be no intercontinental game.

and when we finally have that amount, i hope the devs rework the foodhold concept and go on to working warpgates and maybe homeconts or (forgive the ps1 term) sanctuaries. if your empire could really capture and lock a continent, the zerg avoiding zerg would decrease, because if you want to take a cont completely, you can´t tolerate the zerg backcapping your land, you have to engage on all fronts. and the constant threeway would also take a break more often.

so yes, i am looking forward to new conts and the possibilities they would open up.

I'll agree with you on this. Planetside 2 needs more continents so we can start working on larger meaningful campaigns.

I think that as soon as they have the lattice system down, both in the sense picking it over the hex system and having it done the way they want, we will be seeing more conts faster.
Atm. it seems like it's the lattice system that is holding the conts back.
