no thanks. what you're describing is the whole problem that lead to the cost increase. people didn't treat it as a light vehicle, they treated it as a disposable Extra-Heavy Infantry. the role of the MAX should be something of a liability in terms of logistics. you have to move those things around, and they need support units both to transport and to maintain in the field. they shouldn't be like a job class that you just swap to and then discard.
i would say though, that having them (or anyone really) time out and become unraisable is lame, because they cost. and to the topic at hand i think it especially important that MAX units be able to wait a good long time to get raised. so for my part i say start there, removing raise restrictions (or fixing raise bugs) and let player tactics shift more towards support and maintenance of MAX units because a simple reduction (or refund) in resource is just going to encourage spamming. also again, this is not so simple as a problem with the unit cost itself, as it is more a symptom of the broader problem that is the resource system as a whole. just saying. i can sympathize that for a full time MAX this is probably a rough time, but you're basically screwed by the territory resource system the same as the rest of us. A partial refund sounds fine to me, it's kind of annoying when you feel like you have to keep hold of your MAX well past its actual usefulness, just because of the resource cost.
Haven't the devs said they wanted to introduce some kind of partial refund of vehicle resources when they reintroduce deconstruction? If they do that, then adding a similar feature for MAXs at the same time would be a good idea IMO. |

the same standard applies to MAX units if you look at the power of the unit and how people carelessly pulled them when they cost the same as a C4. they were disposable kill items that anyone could pull just to troll someone else's more expensive vehicles from behind spawn shields. very often someone attempting to use a tank or aircraft as a force multiplier was simply met with MAXes blasting out of spawn shields. now they don't do that because they have to choose that behavior over buying more C4 or grenades. the nerf was needed and i'm sorry that it hits legit players that hard. but that's what a nerf is and what it does. the rest of them ruined it for you. welcome to what it feels like to love flying a lib. again i think the resource system itself is the enemy here, and honestly you could remove the resources altogether and nerf the maximum timer reduction and it would be fine. that probably goes for all vehicles because the resource system pretty much sucks my balls. and again to reiterate i think fixing the raise timer issue, and maybe give them a redeployment option other than physical evac, could help. but just letting it go back to spamming MAXes at a given base and then dropping them to go back to HA with basically no loss is not fair. i agree. they said the same thing about vehicles, when they eventually add back in the deconstruction option they say they are looking into a system in which you get your resources back. i think switching classes should do the same thing. also, accidently switching classes while as a max is an absolute pain in the ass as well, so it would at least make me allot less pissed off if i do it again.
but i think that all of this refunding and reconstructing stuff will come with the resource revamp. |
