To everyone crashing after GU11

"This solved the seemingly random crashes for me and some of my friends:
Locate your install directory and go /resources/assets then DELETE Assets_157.pack!

When you start the launcher after this it will re-download the asset pack (40~MB).
After it's finished go ahead and validate your game files by pressing the wrench icon on the bottom left side of the launcher.

It seems the GU11 update somehow corrupted this assetpack for some players. Also me and my friends had different kinds of crashes but this method solved it for all of us.

My specs are nvidia GT 540M - I7 2630QM - 6GB.

I give the tips to my outfit buddies who also crash and nothing change for us. The better the computer is the most crash it will have as we have seen here.

i have 680 GTX 5gb, this shit worked for me, yesterday i could play 3 hours straight and no crash.

maybe this only affect the 600 series cards? anyway anyone who have CTDs, try it, but be sure to backup the file first.

So I'm already lucky, I can play more than 5h some night before crash (and some crash every minutes ...)

Yea, this didnt fix it for me either....

Then I thought, "Perhaps the file messing up yours wasnt the same as the one messing up mine. Gonna be a bitch finding my problem." So I raged at SOE in privacy for a while before I realized, "Why try and find that one borked file when I could just

uninstall-reinstall?"

Bam.

I've started crashing a shit ton.
Changed to a GTX660 on Friday from a 5770 and holy damn. PhysX not on.

e.g. like right now - straight to desktop when I try and do the first warp jump of the day

it looks like this problem crashing CTD occurs with the new generation nvidia cards. i had a gainward 295 gtx and didnt crash at all, although that was before GU 11. but wtf FIX THIS SHIT GAME ITS BROKEN

It's an SOE game, they cannot make stable engines, their games always run poorly and crash like mad. Planetside 2 crashes every time I go to exit it, like wtf?

so i deleted the asset 157 file but after it i didnt validate the game files in the launcher and now it runs great, no crash. its only crashing when i exit the game lol strange shit

Removing Assets_157.pack worked for me so far.

I'll try this when I get home and inform my outfit mates of this issue. Could solve a number of crashes we're getting in-game.

May be a 600 series issue, I've always crashed randomly I run a GTX 680 4gb
