**DISCLAIMER** I recommend watching in normal or large size as opposed to full screen for maximum viewing pleasure at high speed. Also, this video is almost an hour long! It's not intended to be watched all at once, though you are welcome to do so if you please. I thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to put together a time-lapse sort of video that spanned the entire "journey to Auraxium" in the race for world first with the new NS SMG. Both the beginning and end are in real time, but please feel free to skip through it as necessary. *Note that you can also change the speed by clicking the cogwheel on the YouTube video if you are opted into the HTML5 beta trial, which allows you to slow down (or speed up) portions as you see fit. Thanks to Wezdor for reminding me about that! Either way, I hope this video serves to be memorable of some of the really fun fights for those of you who were awesome enough to hang out with me overnight in my stream chat at
http://itzmurda.com while this was all going down.
If you didn't know, for the release of GU13, Matt Higby proposed a challenge to see who could be the first person to achieve the Auraxium Medal with the new NS-7 PDW SMG. After staying up until 8am, something that I'm getting far too old to do on a regular basis like I used to, I was the first person to do just that. It happened roughly after a 10 hour play session with small breaks, which has been condensed down into about 50 minutes at 12x speed for this project.
This video stemmed from an idea that I had the night of the event while streaming, and I really wanted to make it come to life. Unfortunately, I struggled with how long to make the video and how fast to speed it up. Since Sony Vegas only allows 12x speed maximum without having to re-render a video, I decided to use 12x as my value. The downside of that is that the video is really long, however, if I sped it up any faster it would quickly turn into a garbled mess. As it is, even at 12x speed, PlanetSide 2 is fast-paced enough that some parts are hard to follow, especially if you are unfamiliar with the continents and bases.
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it, whether you watch it for 53 minutes or 53 seconds. As always, thanks for all of your support and please be encouraged to comment, rate, and/or subscribe!
