What play style faults do you notice, or that annoy you, on various servers from the various factions? This is not a discussion about balance or OP'ness other then maybe a faction pulling too much of a certain weapon or vehicle (or not pulling). That would be an acceptable server quirk. This is just pointing out the strange quirkiness or faults that server/factions have developed independently of each other.
(I only play 3 different servers with 3 different factions. My main is NC and I don't fight against NC on other servers.) 1) VS Waterson - They can't pull a sundy to save their life. 2) TR Connery - They have an amazing "gift" at avoiding the capture point for as long as possible. 3) NC Mattherson - If faced with a spawn room between them and the capture point, they will slam their heads against the spawn room. Flanking is an obscure foreign concept, and over-the-top elite tactic that only BWC, DA or CML could possibly pull off. What have you noticed? Last edited by Timithos; 2013-08-22 at 05:45 PM. |

Well that's what I'm looking for... samples.
I'm also calling VS Matttherson (along with their disloyal TR & NC counterparts) to be the most shameful perpetrators of 4th-factioning ever conceived on any server. |

I've noticed an observation between the EU and US servers that I think stands fairly well: The American playstyle is more reserved, slow and steady. Combat is much more individualized. The EU playstyle is a little faster and more hectic, combat flows in faster waves or spikes of activity. Overall combat is more team focused but sporadic.

Especially when you're up against VS on Miller, you need to act fast as TR. These guys generally coordinate well and have a nasty habit of quickly changing their spearhead attack in order to force a breakthrough. As an example: Last week almost saw a dominating biodome victory for TR. As TR was in the middle of their final attack on Rashnu, VS quickly massed up literally all their forces and got a break though on Allatum in the last 20 min, destroying any hope on a TR dominating victory. These quick, hectic shifts I don't see that much on US servers. That being said, outfits are a lot bigger in the US and typically have multiple platoons and divisions coordinating together within a single outfit, which makes them generally less mobile. As Devildogs, there's a problem switching to a low vehicle resource continent if you have a armor division running. As BRTD, not sustaing any armor division, you're not limited in that regard. |

I die too much....seriously tho, most people driving around in undermanned tanks makes me cry. I see it all too often. If you've got open seats, stop for the infantry guy running alone and make him shoot the main gun.
Roflski - how have I not seen the links in your sig before? The "evil" article makes too much sense. I'll quit complaining about lack of content for a while because of that. As my boss says, "If you want to know someone's motivation for action - follow the money." |

What i noticed recently is that people actually use well placed ams sundys, even when it's not the closest one to them.
Usually if i want to assault a base when playing "solo" i just need to place an ams in a good spot and have a little army spawning in no time. Good. And also, even though there are still a lot of incredibly clueless people around who never look on the minimap, stand around like fools in the open or refuse to switch to a certain class as a needed response to an assault, the overall situational awareness seems increased aswell. Now if that is because i switched from tr to vanu or because i have been away for a while is up to you to decide. |

Doesn't matter which server. Miller or Cobalt. Players are rushing into enemy like kamikaze. Instead of using flanking and smart (several) sunderers positions.
When i do help out, it makes battle more organized and tactical. Even if that means talking on /region. Players do listen, because they wanna win. TR Miller: - Been in few squads of several outfits, they donno what tactics is or how to flank. - VS is more organized when it comes to team fights (stomped our massive zerg to zero - 4x smaller group). NC Cobalt: - 1 ("barely") or 2 outfits, know what are they doing. On a side note. One dude was from UK, he knew what was he doing, when leading a bit bigger platoon (players where actually motivated). - VS and TR are fighting against us, more or less all the time. Rarely they fight between each other. Last edited by Metal; 2013-08-24 at 02:29 AM. |
