Whats with the green bar over windscreen?

I was just fighting on Indar (Waterson) and landed my aircraft to give it a quick repair, after hopping back in the cockpit, I had a large, solid green box directly covering my windscreen, not the whole thing, just where I wouldn't be able to fly at all... I hopped back out, and back in again to see if it was glitched out or something, and each time the green box was there. the third time I hopped out, I realized there was an enemy galaxy hovering right above, like close enough to throw rocks, but not covering my aircraft in any way, but he would have been looking right at me. It got shot down as I was hopping back in for about the 4th time and low and behold the box vanished... I've never had that happen before and the box wasn't a pretty in game graphic like being blinded by a concussion 'nade. This seemed very much like a hack due to the solid, nasty color and the fact it was centered perfectly in my field of view. Is this some feature of a weapon on the galaxy I've never heard of or someone up to no good or what?

This is not a feature/weapon of galaxies. It's probably some sort of graphics bug, but it being a hack is a possibility.
