Whats the point in hacking most of the time??
If you're attacking a base and hack everything you can, they still have a console in their spawn. And even if they do push out, they can immediately hack the turrent, console back straight away there is no lock out or penalty. I think it kind of takes away from the infiltrator position, they could have a massive effect on the battle, but instead they are just an annoyance to the enemy. |

I would think that being able to hack a vehicle terminal and start pulling sundies is a pretty big deal. Hacking an infantry terminal inside a building close to the capture point makes for a good defensive position. Just to mention two scenarios.

But yea, hacking could be just a bit more useful. Maybe a terminal could get locked down to the faction that hacked it for 5 (maybe even 10) mins. That way it's not just a case of easily hacking it back once detected (which is most likely on the defenders end). Maybe hacking could be locked to a faction for half an hour before automatically switching back if the enemy still holds the base. Just some ideas off the top of my head. I think a very good improvement for the infiltrator would be to increase the radar darts duration (or preferrably, make them permanent like PS1s motion sensors, or permanent untill playerdeath). They are useful (and even give xp when someone gets killed inside its radius) but completely maxed out they only last for 45 secs each.
Vehicle hacking would be nice too. And a proper hacking animation and not a cheap mockup circle. Get out the tricorder or something. Other than that i found the infiltrator fun enough to make it one of my more played classes. And hacking a vehicle terminal to pull a sundy, deploy and watch the soldiers pop out like a slot machine is just priceless - as for what is hacking for. :J Last edited by Babyfark McGeez; 2013-08-30 at 07:34 PM. |

This. Battlefront 2 has something like that. Unfortunatly, the only way I see this working is by having your current vehicle replaced once hacked and having the ability to transfer ownership of the hacked vehicle to an engineer (infiltrators can't repair). Hacking here should remain undetectable though, otherwise people will just drive away every time and it'll never get used. maybe have EMP grenades that disable vehicles for around 20 seconds?
And this. If/when it does get added though, don't make it look like a repair/med gun. Something like that hacking from Alien vs predator would do nicely. Last edited by Taramafor; 2013-08-30 at 07:58 PM. |

Few things in this game are as demoralizing as trying to defend a base and all of a sudden watching four or five enemy AMSes drive out of your vehicle bay.
Hacking the vehicle term (and to a lesser extent the equipment terminals. No terms = No surprise MAXes) can be, and has been, the difference between a win or a loss. Trust us, hacking the terminals is of the utmost importance when assaulting a position, as is denying the enemy the ability to hack your terminals by blowing them up while on the defensive. |

I think hacking anything just to annoy the enemy is fun. One of the best laughs in game is dropping a mine behind a manned turret and then hacking it.. just be on the 'front' side of it, otherwise you'll die with the enemy when the mine goes off..

New brainfart about infiltrators and their radar darts:
The blips could additionally display class icons on the minimap, or atleast the enemies being "spot" when caught by the radar blip. Maybe this option could be outsourced to a seperate, new radar tool with a different mechanic, like a camera planted with a 90 degree view. Everything caught in the angle in a certain distance gets spotted. Also: Radar Jammers. |
