Standard G2A and anhilator are fire and forget weapons. Striker must maintain active lock in LOS (with a 300ms or so grace period when LOS is broken) to hit. Having used the Striker since the change, and buying a Nemisis on my VS to test it, I now think the Striker is no longer a direct upgrade. It seems more in line with the other faction's ESRLs. Also being able to see where they come from, even when the infantry are toggled into invisible god mode has made things much better as well. Also from my Sythe and Reaver cockpits Strikers no longer seem as bad, it's actually reasonable now to run to cover to break LOS when targeted by them when TR pull them en masse.
Anyone else notice the effect this lock on change has had to the game balance? Will there be a way to check the Eye of Death utility one of the users here coded to see if the Striker still seems to dominate in terms of kills (I posit that there should be a noteable change in the stats). |

We need further testing with the new striker.
Of course all TR I know is complaining about the weapon. I found out that you really don't need to keep the lock to hit. Some testing proved you just need the lock while firing, after that you no longer need maintain the lock, just stay with the sights up and it will hit your target, you take the sight off the missiles go up. Why they go up? Because is was too hard for the developer to make it keep the course like it was on ps-1 and looks like they don't even know how to make it work that way.

the striker doesn't seem a lot weaker to me.
even though I do keep the sights on the target as long as i can (i really hate ESFs :P ) I actually like the last change they made 1) the rockets going up tell the pilots he's safe, no more wondering WILL I GET HIT?!?!?!?! and he can go back to doing what he was doing before 2) easier to coord flare sequences. when flying with partners (what everyone should be doing) i've seen units flare for each other (there seems to be some area of affect). it's easier now to do those with the obvious sign of missed lock on 3) it has slowed the striker a little (people do try to keep the lock longer) which is a slight nerf, which honestly, we could indulge. i still kill my share of harrrr-ass-errrrr... with is it. (and scare the ESF off) |

When it comes to lock on weapons the game is currently broke and has been for a while. There's times when there is just no point in using flares on my scythe as they just don't work.
I'm not 100 % sure but i reckon it's when you are locked on that the missile hits you regardless of flares being released and when you release flares before you get locked, the missile doesn't hit. Apart from that i'd say the striker has been fixed |

Every striker I've fired where the ESF has deployed flares has lost lock. Often when I fired and the esf flies behind a hill or whatnot the striker round diverts straight up into the air. The instance that I am wondering about is similar to the last example but that the round is also on the other side of that hill before the esf is out of my sight. |

Same. Also whenever I duck behind cover now in my Sythe/Reaver when harrassing TR infantry the lock goes away. Standard G2A still hit you, but no TR use them since they have the striker. For some reason though the lock is maintained for about a 1/2 a second even after breaking LOS (which given the latency of the game means you as the pilot must break LOS for over 3/4 of a second). Flares also pretty much always work. It's true that in a multiple hour play session you can get the infinite lock bug still, and get hit by a missile after flaring; but this happening once or twice in a 3 hour period can just be written off as a rare bug that has no real impact on gameplay (I have yet to play any game that doesn't have minor bugs like that). About the topic, i don't care anymore even if they'd roll the Striker back to what it was.. just fix the population imbalance. I'm sick and tired of losing just to overwhelming numbers. Tthe Striker-fix didn't help, and neither did the WG-rotation. They need to implement long enough spawndelay (i'm talking minutes not seconds), and boost the underpopulated faction resources so we can have an actual fight instead of guys with half the continent population ghostcapping and farming their certpoints... |

I launched maybe 30 striker rounds at air targets today on waterson and if the air target flares I lose the rocket. If the air target gets behind cover before I get a lock I lose the lock. If the air target goes behind a hill and my rockets are already inbound and coming down I get hits because they avoided the hill. I didnt get any striker kills today.
