Any tips for a new writer?

I just started on a new fan-fiction story, Do you guys have any tips?

Stick to lore, don't add in too much of your own fluff, and check your grammar!

Make sure your characters have a distinctive way of thinking, or acting or speaking. Try to include details about specific things in the Planetside 2 universe that have not really been explored before. For example, what does it feel like to go through the respawn process? What happens to those who try to run away from the army? What does it feel like to be in a MAX suit? What happened to the last civilians? What are the Vanu researching to try to become 'post-human'. Come up with your own cool, interesting ideas and your story will be distinctive .
