Now we are once again back to only Vanu stealthers being able to hide in shadows and pretty much anywhere that you could hide before.
I guess this is how the competative gaming business thing ruins games..

While it may seem like a big deal, the human eye will notice silhouettes more so than camo. The whole craze for camo I never understood. I mean I love looking silly and wearing the right suit for the right job as much as anyone else. But I never believed for a second it was helping me blend in. My character model still stands out from the environment.
Now that being said. Little disappointed the Vanu didn't get a fat stroke of teal on their infils, hah. |

What i found to be even more important than a good dark camo (even though those are also majorly helpful, no doubt) is, and i shit you not, standing still.
This happened so often to me now, i'm hiding somewhere and look around -> they see me. I'm hiding somewhere and standing perfectly still -> everyone just runs past me. I know it kinda contradicts the basic rule of this game (and of all other arena shooters) which is "KEEP MOVING", but for sneaky stealth moves standing perfectly still in a dark corner can do wonders. Not allways, but surprisingly often. Last edited by Babyfark McGeez; 2013-10-17 at 08:30 AM. |

I don't think the change is that bad, what bugs me is my Bahamut Mask doesn't have camo anymore!
The right camo is pretty awesome at hiding you from a casual glance but on the chance someone does Q spot you it's GG unless your able to break LOS, cloak, and get away from the impending witch-hunt. Infiltrator is the one class about being "hidden" Shouldn't it be exempt from the brag about my faction colors yolo swag 420 stuff? Why make a stealthy class stand out? |

Camo doesn't hide you that well, I never have trouble identifying hostile infils of other soldiers. I do think the vanu are too dark at night, but that isn't related to camo coverage |

Some of you are really bad at hiding then.
With the right camo you can often hide 30-meters away from someone just by standing in a shadow against an irregular dark surface. Bright Blue swaths stand out like a sore thumb when doing this. If you are running around playing SMG ninja then it doesnt matter - if you are sniping from inside an enemy base however its a huge deal.

I find that camo actually does help a bit, mostly just when you're remaining still though. Vehicles benefit from it more, since they don't have shapes as distinctive as the human body, and only when seen from a distance.

I have bought a lot of camos because I think they look cool. I do not think they work for blending in though because I can see infiltrators (even if they are completely still and wearing a camo that is similar to their surroundings) fairly easily. Vehicles are easy to see too, although camo does increase the chance of me glancing past them. I was fighting on Amerish yesterday and there was a VS sundy waayyyy off in the distance. The driver had a green camo on the sundy and it kinda looked like a rock but the second I gave it a second look (and started spamming Q at it) I marked it and several of us NC approached and killed it.

I think it does help a little. Try wearing a camo that is bright in contrast to the environment you are in. Do this while friendlies are around you. Now put on some camo that blends with the environment around you. Notice how much quicker you get spotted without the camo that blends.
