How do you break continent locks?

How do you break continent locks? From what i understand, when a continent lock is acheived, the faction whose capture teh cont. are the only one who can pass trhough the cont.'s warpgates. Is this wrong? If not, how is a continent lock broken if theres is no way of getting from cont. to cont. besides the warpgates?

it makes more sence to me that u caint drop anywhere except into enimy S.O.I becuase it eliminates dropping down right onto a base instead of fighing your way in. Besides, theresa no other way onto a continent besides drop pods and warpgates and we know the warpgates get closed off

You can drop anywhere except in an enemy sanctuary, or near/in an enemy base. So yes, you have to use drop pods.

IEDs, SAF, RPGs, & mortars. But only during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The enemy is so poor, they have to keep day jobs

You must fully controll all bases(not towers) on a continent to achieve continent lock. You must fully capture 1 base(not tower) in order to break continent-lock. This includes waiting the 15(or was it 10?) minutes after hacking the base.

If a base looses NTU power while the continent is locked, the lock is NOT broken unless/until it is captured by an opposeing force.

Actually, you can't drop into any SOI's. Not even friendly or nuetral ones. At least that's how it was a while back, with all these beta changes, there's no way to know (unless of course you are in the beta, but then you can't tell anyone).

Im pretty sure you can use warpgates if your on a different faction then the one holding the continent. It would be basicaly impossible to re-capture it if you wherent able to

Umm...no. That's the hole point of the continent lock; to lock people out. If they could still use warpgates to access the continent, then what kind of "lock" would that be? Yes, it will be hard to recapture locked continents, but that's the whole point. Many people get a kick out of challenges like that, including me . I'm sure locked continents will still be hotly contested, and we'll probably see plenty of continents locked and unlocked during the course of PS.
