Anyone know what the recoils like? I mean with guns like gauss, cycler, and the mini-chaingun.
Is the recoil going to be like (in counter-strike terms) the m4a1? the mp5? or like the ak? For those who dont know = mp5 = pretty low recoil, m4a1 = medium recoil, ak = large recoil. I mean the recoil while holding down the fire button of course. My guess would be that the mini-chaingun has huge recoil issues, like the ak, the cycler has minimal recoil issues, and the gauss is somewhere in between the mini-chaingun and the cycler. In my opinion recoil is a huge part of being a grunt, and if you're forced to fire in 2-3 round bursts because of the recoil, i'm okay with that, but it changes the style of play completely. Edit= Also in a completely unrelated question, for the decimator, the description says that it is disposed of after finishing it's payload. Is the payload 1 rocket? Or a clip of 3-5 rockets? And once again in another unrelated question, is it possible to carry a rek (or whatevers used to repair stuff), a med kit, and around 150-200 ai as well as 150-200 ap rounds as well as maybe 5 rockets, and a few mines in reinforced armor? I highly doubt it but I think it'd be cool to be that versatile, being able to repair your armor and heal yourself and squadmates after fights. It would really give an edge to infantry over maxes. It would be nice if someone could come up with one of those character creator programs with a way to see what can fit in your inventory with information taken froms ss's. And in another completely unrelated question, when dropping a weapon due to low ammo and picking up another one, do you take that weapons ammo as well as the weapon or can you just take the ammo from the corpse without taking the weapon? Ooh yay, I thought of another question, I wish i could rename the thread "Hamma Hell". Does anyone know what happens when you're revived, do you have all your armor and all your weapons/inventory or do you just come back with nothing and have to scavenge which makes no sense at all to me...? Ok most of that can't be answered due to the NDA but we can't make a character maker without knowing what different items cost cert wise and i would assume u start off with nothing when u spwan back in unless revived by a healer, but u wouldn't have to scavenge for weapons since you can go to the nearest terminal and get new ones free.

From the videos, it seems like they are using the cone of fire instead of an actual onscreen kickback effect to simulate recoil. Most people I have seen firing automatic weapons fire full tilt, but it depends on range. If you're engaging at range, you might have to wait for your cof to tighten between shots.
I'm almost positive decimator is one round. I think your loadout is entirely possible in reinforced, but I'm not in beta. You can 'loot' corpses (coffins) for weapons and ammo, but you'll probably have to do so manually, e.g. EQ. You're revived before you turn into a coffin, so it is logical that you would just appear in your armor with whatever you had on you.

This screenshot might be helpful for your inventory question: http://www.planetside-universe.com/m...php?img_id=784
Now, I did a little math, made a few assumptions, and you wouldn't be able to get the full load-out you wanted, but it would be damn close. If you substitute a rocklet for decimators, well, you're set. And in case anybody's interested, here's what I came up with (although it's not exactly brain surgery to figure it out for yourself): Total Reinforced Inventory = 108 ACE/Any pistol-slot item/Ammo in boxes of 50 = 9 Med Kits = 8 Grenades = 4 Rifle-slot items = 18 So, barring any problems with the shapes of the items (I'm not bored enough to figure that out... yet), you can fit a pretty good amount of stuff into Reinforced Armor. But you've definitely got the right idea - the grunts in Reinforced are going to be some of the most versatile players in the game by Rank 20.

This game is based on Specialization, so you will not be able to be very versatile. This is what the devs want. A squad of specialized soldiers, instead of everyone being able to carry around an ungodly amount of equipment.

Also, do your weapons go in your inventory or do they have their own slots? I didn't even know they still had the cone of fire, I only saw that in the really early videos from last e3. The new total domination video shows they have crosshairs as in cs. |

Well, I was bored enough, and I looked it up.
I can carry 150 gauss rounds, 150 ap gauss rounds, 1 bank, 3 frag grenades, 1 med applicator, and 3 phoenix missiles. Good enough for me. Allows me to heal and repair myself whenever I want. And I can always pick up med applicators/banks when i run out from my enemies corpses. Fun! lol |
