In this game without a meta, I have found a lot of fun and satisfaction in watching my stats improve over the last year. Stat tracking has become a part of my normal play sessions and I often check how I am doing at any given fight by pressing tab, reading my session stats, and pushing myself to do better. I stive for more kills per minute, better accuracy, and a higher KDR.
So, as the thread title says, what stats (if any) are important to you and why? |

http://stats.dasanfall.com Shows a true reflection of what type of player you are. Also has Pilot vs Pilot, Tank vs Tank and so forth. Anyone can rocket pod, Sit in a bio lab with a max and get a high SPM/KD. Doing it on the ground as infantry is where its at.

I rather prefer stats that measure your contribution to a team objective effort over mindless kill farming stats like KDR and SPM. They promote the wrong game play imo, degenerating this game into a glorified TDM.
Unfortunately the game does not provide stats like points guarded, team mates healed/revived/repaired/supplied/taxied, successful objectives issued/followed, contribution to winning an alert, etc. |

Have you tried contacting SOE and suggesting a stat that indicates "points guarded, team mates healed/revived/repaired/supplied/taxied, successful objectives issued/followed, contribution to winning an alert, etc."? I think that could be a cool stat. |

SPM = More certs, so that is important to me. At the moment at least. Once I have certed up everything I need then I won't be so interested in that.
KDR is also important to me, though I know it shouldn't be. Now that I've hauled it to over 1/1 I find I am contributing more to the team play aspects of the game. And as long as I keep it over 1/1 in each session then I'm a happy teddy. I also keep a track on my medals because I can see how I am contributing in my supporting roles. I should add that Battle Rank does not interest me at all. That is just a measure of how much XP I have earned since joining. Last edited by synkrotron; 2014-01-04 at 04:26 AM. |

As I tell my outfit, KDR matters, but it's certainly not everything, and you shouldn't obsess over it. In general, we should be killing the enemy more than they kill us. Of course, k/d is very dependent on your role. As a point man, medic, engi, driver, etc. if you're doing your job, your k/d will suffer.
When I want to killwhore I'm not the best, but can average a good 4-8 k/d even with infantry, but I find it infinitely harder to killwhore when I'm say, leading a platoon. If I just had a cert for every time I was knifed in the back by some cloaker or sniped while looking at the map.... |

I'll tell ya what stat isn't important to me at all: accuracy. As en Engineer I have unlimited ammo, so I gots no problem unloading 40 rounds into an empty window or at a distant ESF lol... Heck, I do the same with all classes (especially dual cycler max) other than sniper, ammo comes at a premium when no one else is around.
The only stat I think about is KDR, which I seek to keep above 1. Not really sure why, I just do. The rest of the time I'm content to just play the game. I thought I would add that I disagree that "bases defended" means you are farming kills. Re-securing a base by routing an enemy squad/platoon and then staying to defend it for a bit isn't farming - it's playing the game. Last edited by Tatwi; 2014-01-04 at 06:20 PM. |

The only stats I really care about are Bases Captured, Bases Defended and Time Played.
K/D is only useful when gauged against to a player's career score. If they have a high score but low K/D compared to players ranked immediately above and below them in the leaderboards, you can reasonably infer that they're a team player. A high K/D paired with a high career score, not so much. |
