I have to hand it to you, and I never thought I'd say this, but in my book you are now officially the faction to beat during prime-time on the server. With the BR100 club NUC mostly inactive and TR not having the luxury of 40%+ pop, they are not much of a factor now.
We used to feel sorry for NC on Waterson, even though as VS we were very out-popped ourselves. We even went to the trouble of creating NC toons that we could use to rally their troops and defend NC bases when we needed help against the massive TR zerg. It seemed for a while at the beginning the only option on NC was to join the DVS horde who roamed around like a gang, not paying much attention to the big picture, just always on the attack or at some random farm. Now, NC is just playing better than TR and VS. They are simply allocating the right numbers to the right bases during alerts and doing it faster than everybody else. They have had some truly epic last-second resecures that come to mind lately, and I see their outfits working well together. VS is getting some lame 4th-faction late-night pop, which I loathe. I like to fight outnumbered, but NC is now the menace on the server during peak hours. As for our outfit, we'll focus on NC as long as this trend continues, and for the most part let TR hide in their hole, and I would recommend other VS outfits do the same. Let the smurf hunt begin. Watch out though. They all have shotguns. |

DVS wasn't a mindless horde. I'll agree that we had massive numbers and that there was almost a platoon online at all times but it wasn't just a zerg outfit.
2-3 times a week DVS had multiple platoon ops and having that much of anything looks like a mess. Yet we broke down the command line and had a chain of command using our TS server. Each platoon had its own channel and each squad had its own sub channel within those platoons. During an OP there was no messing around, no cross talk outside of proxy, no one could use platoon chat that wasn't a leader, and the platoon leaders gave orders to each squad if the job didn't need more than 1-2. There some cat herding depending on who was leading though, I can't deny that as some of use liked that style. DVS was bigger than most, maybe the biggest back then. But DVS is a very organized gaming community. We aren't merely an outfit, but an entire gaming community and had numbers to start with before PS2 came out. |

I didn't mean to imply DVS was a mindless horde, but some openly admitted to not caring about the big picture. I remember multiple occasions when they were attacking VS when TR had more than 40% server pop and were attacking important NC bases. Usually the reply was "we don't care", "we don't like defense. It's boring." etc.

I certainly didn't intend for this to be a DVS-bashing thread. In fairness, I see DVS officers trying to coordinate on the forums with other outfits, and it seems to have worked.
The point was, NC is a major threat on Waterson, and VS has the pop to make it a good fight. The server is nice and competitive now, apart from TR bleeding out a little. And as much as I miss my OPZOE, I'm glad it was nerfed, because before that it seemed the 4th faction was moving towards VS. Now before one faction's pop get's out of hand again, I'd love to see timers on faction-switching like we had in Planetside, so it's not so easy, picking the flavor-of-the-night and switching factions. http://nccommand.com/forum/index.php You have to apply to read most of those forums and it hasn't seen much traffic as of late but NCC is a conglomerate of NC outfits on Waterson that wanted more out of the game. So we reached out to each other and sat down to have a common forums to share opinions, tactics, and we even had a couple of meetings with up 14 outfits joining in each. DVS, RCN6, DREV, SPV, BLUE, DEOZ, PHX, and BDM to name a few with more that have a representative on the NCC forums. The recordings of some of those meetings should still be on the NCC forums, I got at least 3 still on my PC. We mainly got sick of being the under-performing faction and went to work to change that. It seems to have paid off. I have even heard rumors that TR on Waterson is thinking of forming their own outfit alliance. Can't say if it is true or not, but if it is. NCC would like to extend its hand to invite any TR representatives to have a talk. Nothing fancy, just a sitdown to get each others opinions and to learn something about our enemies. |

This is one of the things VS on Mattherson really have going for them. Yes they have their share of scrubs, but outfits like GOTR, DARK, DA, AT, etc. have been around working together for nearly a decade. |

There very well could be a Mattherson version. But it isn't this NCC that I know of. |
