A query about the official SOE forums

Hi peeps,

This has bugged me for a while now, although I do actually prefer the PSU forums.

But I am unable to log in to post there.

I'm based in Europe and therefore, if I try to create a SOE account I get re-directed to the ProSieben sign up page.

Is there a way to circumvent that so that I can create a "Station" account and therefore log into the forums and participate?

cheers

andy

there is (was?) a small link ath the bottom of the page right after "download now" that asked you if you had played in the beta.
you click on that, and it lets u sign up with SOE.

pro7sat1 is not doing a nearly good enough job to attract players.

There are pogramms that can change you IP so it seems like you do have a US IP that allows you to sing up.

You can also use the Steam client, it downloads the SOE version, not the Pro7 one. You should be able to create a SOE account with it.

That no longer exists and any link tells me I'm from the UK

I don't fancy the idea of downloading any software that masks my IP. Sorry...

I get the feeling that isn't going to work. The reason for that is I have the US version of the ps test server and when you click on the create account link it takes you to the official SOE website and hence back into the same loop I have experienced.

Do any "Europeans" here post on the official SOE forums? And how?

When I was active in this game, I used to, but I felt my IQ dropped when I visited. I think the problem was swathes of idiots making stupid 1 liners in the hope of getting up-voted (and usually getting it from other idiots).

Like you I'm UK based but I made my account during the days of PS1, so pre-Pro7. Don't know these days what you do

ye I have an SOE account and use the SOE shop with SC and so on - but this is only because I created it a long time ago prior to Pro7 being involved, so it's of no use to you unfortunately. Sorry.

The only way that I recall my outfitmates got hooked up with SOE accounts instead of Pro7 was getting the game via steam.

Everybody else that I know on Miller who has a SOE account was grandfathered in with their Planetside account.

Well, I guess I'll give up on the idea then, and it doesn't sound like I'm missing much. I can still at least access the forums so I can read the announcements

For me, I signed up for beta and played since its early days before Pro7 came knocking.

But yes I'd take previous posters' advice and just not bother much with the PS2 SOE forums. The ratio of reasonable suggestions and brain-melting statements, is a tad unbalanced. By a tad I mean quite a lot .

That said there are a few threads there that truly are wonderful gems.

Quite true, besides it seems like most of the devs post on reddit instead of the official forums anyway.
