Hey,
I dont usually need help with computers, this would be a first, but I am having some odd issues with my new PC, I'm running a: Pentium 4 2.0A GeForce 4 Ti-4200 Western Digital 40GB 7200Rpm HDD (ATA-133) 512 PC-2700 DDR Ram And some other basic PC stuff, but the problem is when I play BF1942, it lags horribly at times. I just tossed my 3200RPM/17GB/ATA-33 HDD for that new one yesterday and it still has some lag issues. It couldn't possibly be from the memory, I have 512MB of it and I dont think ANY game needs more. The graphics card is insane. The game doesn't always lag, it just gets one of those moments. Is there something I can change in the settings? Should I put it on 800x600/32? Because its running at 768x1024/32 and I don't see a good reason as to why it would lag. Someone throw me a bone here, thanks. =) |

Yes, the infamous Battlefield. I love the game but it is a mystery to many people how it can run fine on a low-end PC and bad on your nice machine. My first bit of advice is that you start with sound. Turn all sound off and see how it runs, if it is good then slowly bump up options on sound and see what happens. Let me know.

Hey,
I turned the sound all the way off, fixed basicly all of it. But, being me, I didn't like it. I did some extensive research and downloaded the newest drivers. Turned some settings on and off and tweaked it a lot. Its working great now, but I still want my uber computer =) |
