To the people currently in beta: How long would you say it takes to advance in BR? I know it battles it probably goes a hell of a lot faster than if you're sitting on your ass but on average do you gain it pretty fast, takes you a while etc.
I was kind of hoping that you have to build your char for a while like in an RPG.

Don't know actually. Since I've been in they have been starting people off at BR 10. I've never actually been BR 1. According to smokejumper, BR 1 - 5 is supposed to go fairly quickly and then slow down after that. I can tell you that going from BR 10 to BR 11 is pretty slow. In fact, I never have made BR 11. Of course, I make a new char everytime I decide to try out something new *shrugs*

Do you earn any BEP at the training center? Also, I read around but I didn't see if they made it to where you get XP for defending a base.
(BTW I am in limbo, hoping for the e-mail someday)

Well, it's still a beta and we don't always get to play because of server problems. I have yet to lvl up because I have only been in a week or so and there have been some extenuating circumstances. At this point in beta we always start at battle rank 10 and I'd say I get roughly a third a level in a good night of heavy fighting. Of course, I never stop to check my experience during the night because I'm simply having so much fun with the game and not worrying about my next lvl.
My BR 10 has most of the important abilities at that point and more cert are basically gravy. At BR 11 I wont be able to kill any faster or last any longer in a fight, but I may be able to repair myself afterwards or hack an enemy vehicle panel for a convenient ride. It's really a great change from the level race of MMORPGs. |

You get BEPs for trying everything new. In fact, they give you BEPs for doing almost everything the first time (heck, I'm suprised they didn't throw in BEPs for opening doors the first time).
You get BEPs for pulling out weapons the first time, looking at terminals and stuff (weapons lockers, respawn tubes, matrix terminals) the first time, and when you get a vehicle the first time. That includes stuff you use in VR training. Heck you even get points for looking at the map the first time. And all with pop up boxes giving a little information on em. |

Nother question. (YAY)
At BR10 how specialized/unspecialized were/are you? From the manual it seems that you have a WIDE variety to choose from at BR10, and it looked like you get a lot of certs at 10.

I did an ANT run for the first time last night. I drove from a base under attack out to a nearby warp bubble, filled it up, returned and deployed the energy. Took about 10-15 minutes I guess.
I got a stream of exp as the energy filled the base silo...I hear the ant holds 1.5x as much energy as the silo so I guess you could get more if it needed more. I think I restored the base from about 35 to 40% power up to full and probably got about 5% of the way from BR 10 to BR 11. So you could probably lvl from BR 10 to BR 11 on 10-20 ANT runs, but boring methods like that are for MMORPGs. Keep in mind the other 9 guys in my squad also got that exp. It isn't shared, it is multiplied for everyone in the group. Yet another great step for PS. I was also getting exp from all the kills my squadmates were making during that time. |

SO xp.
Here's what I've noticed Kill normal guy 100-200 Kill MAX 300-400 Cap a Base (with a squad) 2600-3500 ANT Run (draining that bad boy at multiple bases) about 1500 (not much Anti-vehicle, so can't tell ya what the XP for those are) At BR 10 3000 XP was about 1 Bubble (10 bubbles to a new BR) so I figure 30-35k from BR10-BR11 Also Smoke Jumper said something to the effect of reseting everyone to BR1 on Monday, so we'll get to see then!
