Gotta be Stealthing on top of a VS tower... the last one we didn't control, so it was a fight... I was playing my TR stealther, Morgolus for those in game, and was supporting with my little Skeater, trying to lay lead on the VS bastards below.
Well one decided I should die and hit me with a rocket, almost knocked me out of the sky, I Afterburn for it, then punch out over the tower, landing on the top platforms. Now it get's fun... go to stealth, turn on Melee booster, and pull the Chain blade. HEHEHE The first 2 didn't know what hit them... then I had to wait for a MAX to walk by (knives can't hurt-em) but sliced his little buddy who was following him. Another guy hops into one of the turrets, but we take the tower and it expells him, so I jump in and shoot him with his own turret... hehehe By then people were getting wise to me, so I had to stand REAL still and only kill guys when they were alone... by the end of that fight I had sliced 6 Vanu wussies, and burned down another 2 with the turret... And while I've tried to do it again, I've never done that well again... ever... Sigh

Well, the first things that come to mind are the extended, prolonged huge battles pushing back and forth for control of a base...but one funny story comes to mind.
Me and two of my squadmates were guarding a CC we had hacked. We were sitting there for a while waiting for the timer to go down and we had no action for last few minutes. So when it turns to ours we start to move out. I walk forward a bit and then I suddenly can't move. I thought maybe it was a bug or something. Then I sidestepped and could go forward again. I decided to check on the bug so I turned and tried to walk through that spot. Again I was blocked. Normally in this situation I would move on out, but I decided to pull out my chaingun and test the spot with a barrage of bullets. Result...1 dead stealther. He had apparently been sitting there for 5 minutes or more waiting for us to leave so he could rehack the console. |

Couple good stories there! It's going to be a long weekend reading those and not being able to get into the game. Luckily for me (sorta), I have to work the next four nights so by the time I get off work on Wednesday, I can get a few ZZZ's and the CD's should be in my mailbox when I wake up!
Keep the stories and adventures coming! |

LoL one of the best times was when I was flying along in a reaver, covering a base we (TR) were hacking, when a vanu reaver comes along and engages me. So we're burnin up the sky with chainguns when a second vanu reaver joins in! After a few more minutes of dog fighting I had gotten some good hits in but my reaver was almost dead so I bailed out.
Next thing I know, I'm falling toward the ground when I see a kill message pop up on my chat window, and was suprised to see my name followed by a reaver pic (signifying I got a kill with a reaver) and then a purple vanu name (person I killed). So, on the ground now, I look around and there is only one vanu reaver left in the sky. To this day I still don't know precisely how it happened, but that vanu reaver must have been coming around for an attack run and gotten to close when my reaver finally blew up and got taken out with it. So...I'm standing there with a shit eating grin on my face when the second reaver pulls up to a hover and starts in on me. So I pull out my cycler, load up AP ammo, and let loose. I must have damaged him a lot in the dog fight, cause next thing I know I see him trying to bail out. He didn't make it far enough away though when his reaver blew up and took him with it. So there you have it, me (the not so good dog fighter) took on and beat 2 reavers at once (even though I did end up on foot at the end) |

Mine had to have been the fight in the bottom of Gunuku with Hamma Dodged around a bit, traded some fire, both got hurt.
He ducked behind some boxes. I had a few grenades. "Sputty tells you: lol, Hamma just said 'Dammit, Led from the forums just got me '" |

yeah, this game is really fun. just gota watch out for enemy MAXs in hallways, you're as good as dead if you aren't one yourself. same thing is true if a vanguard sees you pretty much at all *sigh* few deaths there.
oh, and knifes do no damage to max's right now (tough luck sneaky people). and dark light implant is a god-send against said sneaks, i've found quite a few hiding in a corner thinking i don't see them...a few rounds later and they are respawning. lastly, on defence, don't try to turtle up and hold out. it's almost impossible because you're either going to get hacked, or your gen is going to get blown up. and unless you're lucky enough to have a nearby tower controlled by you, or a hidden AMS, you're SOL when you die.

I just enjoy finding a nice scenic view of a big battle and sniping away. So easy to tag unspecting people. One time I was sniping a TR base through some trees and took out 4 agile/reinforced before they found me and ambushed me. I just turned on surge implant and got the heck outta there. They ended up chasing me w/ their maxes so I had to lay low in the swamp hiding behind the trees. Took out one more with a pistol as he ran past me before one of the maxes let loose on me. I hit surge again and tried to get outta there but he caught up in run mode(With agile and surge you can run a bit slower than a max in run mode) and mowed me down. I swear I was going to have a heart attack my heart was racing so fast.

Darklight is an extremely useful implant indeed. Nothing worse than just catching a glimpse of a stealther and then not being able to see where they went ... knowing someone is creeping around your base invisible is not a good feeling! Playing one of my characters with a different implant, me and a squadmate kept catching glimpses of a stealth enemy in a tower. I ended up having to just carpet bomb the whole place with my Thumper until I finally killed the bastard - so having at LEAST one person on your squad with darklight is a huge help.
As far as individual battle stories ... man there are so many. It's what makes the game so addictive, so many things can happen. I've been on great assaults and I've been the last defender, seeing the last friendly MAX fall in front of me and taking one more enemy out before being totally overrun by multiple Vanu MAX units and infantry ... Planetside definitely gets your blood pumping during battles. |
