Geforce FX's price and performance for ps?

This is just fucked up, i keep seeing prices for geforce fx 5200's at somewhere from $80-$120, wtf is with this? Is that just for the box or something? lol, i've looked through the specs at different sites and i can't find why the price is so low. The manufacturing companies on these low priced fx's are evga and xfx, what are they deformed or something, lol?
Check out this link... u have to scroll down to get past the geforce mx's to get to the fx's.

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ion=geforce+fx

I trust newegg, they don't fuck up on prices, and i've also seen the same prices at different sites. Can someone please tell me why the prices cost so god damn fucking low?

My best guess is the first batch of fx's shipped had been mistakenly shipped with slow processing units, look at the speeds. 6.4 gb/sec memory bandwidth. 1 billion texels per sec, 63 million vertices per sec.

That's not the point, they cost less then 4600s, 4400s, and sadly 4200s. They only 30$-50$ more then mx cards.

6.4 gb/sec bandwidth, jesus. I never really looked at the NV30's specs but man....

the R300 gets 19.8 gb/s bandwidth.

I'd wait till r300 price drops [and then go ati] due to the release [mass shipment] of the r350.

It's not a MISTAKE.

Think of the 5200 FX as nVidia's new generation of GeForce4 MX cards -- they're counting on its similarity to the 5800 namewise to generate sales. They aren't even trying to hide that it's geared much lower.

Should still rock the box for PS -- better than my GF4 4200Ti 128mb -- but it's nowhere NEAR 5800 speed.

Because, simply put it performs worse then a 128mb ti4200... If you look at a side by side spec comparison it seems the ti4200 is substantially better, maybe the 5200 is just the gf4 mx420 of the Fx line... Please dont flame me if im wrong.
