MAX Issues

Whilst playing last night, I came to a few conclusions....

1. The TR MAX needs to have a QUICK plant instead of that long plant, granted, its a cool animation, you get that whole ED-209 feel going.... but really... it takes WAY too long to plant, and is only useful for putting up steel walls in CC.

2. A Planted TR AI MAX is deadly.. (even outside) But he is also cookies against VANU Max, taht jumping, which I give them, hey the VS need all the help they can get... is just a bit over powering yes? You get one to play leap at and around you, and you are cookies.

3. TR AA Max.. are near pointless agianst anything but air... I KNOW... thats the point... but shouldn't they get a bonus against a VS MAx whilst it is airborne??

4. An ANT should be more nimble so as to run away from a max more easily.... I lost out on a base cap 3k CEP down the drain last night, because I had a full up ANT and this max leaped the wall and chewed me up... that hurt my feelings.

1.) I don't agree, the planting time is fine for the amount of raw power you gain when planted.

2.) Eh, so the VS MAX is overpowered because it can jump over a wall to get behind a clamped down TR MAX? TR MAX should have unclamped the minute it heard the boosters going off near it, Staying immoble near a highly mobile enemy = lose.

3.) Yup, why not hehe.

4.) I agree here, they need more speed and mobility.

Do you realise how biast you sound?

Anyway, TR maxes are powerful with the clamp, theres no way they need improving there, i get ripped to shreds.

Yes, your AA needs some helps, and it should work against VS maxes in the air

I dunno man. Seems to me that the MAX's are the one thing that is solidly balanced in an apples to apples comparison in this game. The rest of the stuff it seems one empire has an advantage over the others in each specific category. I'ld say reasonably well balanced on an entire Empire scale, but not in specific circumstances.

A Vanu MAX's element is outdoors, especially with walls an such around. Let that same MAX try to attack you while you defend the CC...

And the AA MAX's.... well they are all great air killers, but they all also suck horribly against anything else. The Vanu AA MAX takes 3-4 clips to kill an agile and too much to bother counting to kill a MAX. I wouldn't mind a boost to all 3 empire's AA MAX capabilities when it comes to anything but air. I think they should at least be marginal vehicle killers.

The idea behind antiair is not straight damage, but to screw over the flight control surfaces of an airframe so badly it cannot stay airborne.

Led, they don't have that implemented, so the purpose of an AA max is to do straight damage to the aircraft.

MrVicchio = Buster of TR?

My squad leader lost CP points last night trying to get an ANT to the base we were capturing.

AA Max are so damn pointless. TR especially, with a team that already has the striker which is the best AA weapon in the game IMO, what purpose does the AA max serve?

No way should the TR MAX clamp more quickly. If it did, it would own the NC MAXs in every situation.

I can understand that, but it does make taking an AA max problematic. I hope it will be balanced a bit more due to beta feedback.

They do need to make the specialist types, well, specialized, but not go overboard.
