Dead Monitor

Well, this morning I got up and went to my computer, turned the montior on, started to check my email.. HISSSSSSS-clunk. Screen goes blank. I said.. hmm, weird. So, I turn the monitor off and back on. HISSSSSSSSclickclick. I was like.. aww crap.. it's dead. So I restarted the comp for who knows why, just trying to get it to work I guess. No luck.

I think I'm gonna try to find some local comp shop and see if they can fix it. If not, I'm gonna have to buy a new one, which sucks.

(This all happened on my 2nd comp. Luckily my faster, newer comp is doing fine.)

Buying a new monitor will probably be cheaper or near identical to getting it repaired.

Kiwi is right. From the way you describe it my best guess one of your capacitors has leaked and is no longer functioning.
