I know this has been covered in countless threads, but I really have to ask/suggest this.
Why even have the ability to kill members of your own empire? What's the point? And it's not like it's hard to do. Many other games (JK2 comes to mind) have multiplayer "team protection" on. So should team protection be implemented or what? |

I don't think that removing FF should be implemented. Over all I think TKing is pretty rare in PS compared to most FPS, and that has a lot to do with the burly grief system. I do absolutely hate TKers, but I envision mass splash damage weapon spamming in close quarters if they removed FF which would be horrible. Can you imagine dozens of people with thumpers or something crammed up in a tower enterance spamming the living crap out of the ground to kill enemies without having any reprocussions for doing so? Or worse yet, groups of TR chaingunners.

Not much TKing?
Well I got a story for you A friend of mine loged on for the first time and was walking around. He stoped, standing in one place just looking around and about 10 sec into his standing there....SPLAT he got run over by a harraser, which then proceeded to run over 4 more people. Next he went to the gunnery range and was standing there working his weapon when a AI max walked up to him and unloaded a round of big @$$ shotgun on him...and then walked away from his mangled corps. |

Ok, relatively "not too much TKing". There are reprocussions for TKing though in this game that comes in the form of grief. If you think this is bad did you ever play the multiplayer demo of 1942?? I mean holy shit, it was impossible to join a server and not have someone TK you because you got into the plane before he did. I have been TKed intentionally only 2 or 3 times, most of the time it is an accident in the sanctuary which I can live with.

No team damage is a viable option however it has its down sides as well. For instance it seems silly to be able to throw large explosives into a crowd fixed with friend and foe and only the foes die or get hurt. Its mainly a realism factor. Not to mention some times people maybe intentionally blocking your path or maybe stuck for some reason at a point that everyone else is trying to get to so TKing may be the only solution in such a case.
However I feel there are pretty simple solutions to TKers and I honestly don't know why SONY is having trouble with the issue. My solutions are: Any team mate that is in the process of hacking something can not be hurt by friendly fire. This makes it so no one can steal another team mates rightfull BEP earnings and stats. If ever you damage your own team mate below half way of his health then he should be given the option to penalize you in some minor way: examples - loss of BEP, cannot fire your weapon for a few seconds, instant death. Even if it was not intentional the punishment is minor enough that you will merely pay more atention to what you are doing and at the same time it will be severe enough to be unpleasent to any intentional TKers. The number of TKs you have within a given period of time should dictate any serious consequences such as no weapons fire for a long time or not being able to drive a vehicle based on whether your kills have been mostly caused by driving into others or not. And eventually server banning. |

Right, I've been capped on accident a few times, some newb flew a reaver into me in the sanctuary. Your friend shouldn't care. Dying really doesn't hurt you if your at the sanctuary; and you know that they're gonna get owned by the system if the keep it up.

The point is to prevent area of effect weapon spam from ruling the game. If there wasn't FF, you can be damn sure people would be throwing grenades around or shooting them all over the place with impunity. FF means that more teamwork and self control is required of the player. Not only that, but FF allows for funny TK stories to come up.
But I'm still not sure if the pro's outweigh the cons on this one. |

Its probably already been said but I don't wanna read all these posts so...
They are leaving FF in because: 1. Adds to the realism 2. Prevents lame tactics (such as spamming explosives of some form in a doorway making a wall teammates can pass through but enemies cannot) 3. I can't think of a third, maybe later
