Some various flight related additions/changes...


Ok, since you guys are a little more mature and open minded than the offical forum goers i thought i'd run this by you too.

Here are some things i'd like to see added to the game:

1) A real radar system. The current radar system is crap. I got into a dog fight today and i could not see the guy on my map. Either the map is just too damn small even on max zoom or the radar just doesn't pick him up. This really needs to change. It's bad enough there's almost nothing you can do to shake somebody that's behind you. It's even worse to not know he's behind you.

2) You NEED to be able to look behind you when dog fighting. This is like one of the most important things there is in dog fighting but it's not in this games mediocre flight model. This REALLY needs to be added.

3) The reaver should carry locking missles that dumb fire when not locked. Each solvo (similtaneously fired group of missles) should take out about 1/3 to 1/4 of a reavers armor. The missles should require about 5 seconds to lock (doesn't seem long on paper but in a heated fight it's eternity).

4) Mosquito should get dumb fire missles. Slightly less powerfull ones and not as many of them. Still, this may be enough to make the skeeter worth something. Right now it's just for people who want cheap solo air transport.

5) Radar jammer device deployed via the ACE. This would create a jammed area about the size of the AMS cloack bubble that would prevent enemy radar from showing what's in it and would prevent the reaver from locking onto vehicles inside. Plus it might give the engineering cert a little more value.

If you couldn't see the guy he was most likely a mosq, but yeh the radar is dodgey as hell.

No he's right. It could just be bugged. Sometimes i see other enemy reavers on radar most of the time i don't. Prolly 8 of the last 9 dogfights i've been in didn't show up on radar.

Yes, the external cam is crap. I'd trade almost anything for a real external freelook. The looking in driving vehicles sucks too. Getting griefed cuz i cant see whats behind me when im backin up away from NTU silo after an ant run, blows.

I would be okay with this if it were a simple matter of selecting the different ammo type. A different rocket altogether in addition to what we already have. But you would get fewer of them and only be able to fire two at a time or within quick succession.

I agree with your "cheap solo air transport" comment. But i dont think rockets are what is needed here. Cuz then, why use a Reaver? I would however accept a more powerful CG.

Interesting idea. No comment accept Engi Cert does need a boost.

I would actaully like the strafe speed brought up a little. up/down elavation speed could be faster. Reverse should be a full on air brake. For Reaver and Skeeter both. I am unfamiliar with Galaxy flight.

I did say the radar is dodgey as hell Reavers blip on and off all the time, so do alot of other things.

You use reavers for air support and heavy ground pounding. The mosquito missles should be weak and just like it is with the reaver, it's damn hard to hit a fast moving target of any kind with those slow ass dumb fire missles. The reavers locking missles could actually hit moving enemy vehicles once locked and they would be much stronger.
