Finishing Touches already?

according to this email that just got spanked onto the front page of PSU, they have put the finishing touches on planetside, does this mean that in the next day or two i will not be constantly dropped from the server and i won't lag out of mianus? or does it mean that they're shipping the game with these problems?

:wah:

What they mean is the content is probably almost locked down. The servers do not = the content. They can tweak servers right up until release.

Suck it up bro, we arent done yet. And if you cant handle being dropped now and then take a break from PS and go do something else.

Look at it this way too, at the moment we are playing for free...

Its improved alot since friday/saturday...

only been dropped a couple of times and thats connecting through from the UK

The servers will change alot no doubt before release, and as i am trying to find somewhere in the UK where i can pre-order i just hope i get the game as close to the 19th as possible, gonna really miss playing for a few days if i dont get it on the release date

My question is what do they mean by "Limited Quantity" I don't have a credit card so I can't order online. Am I gonna get hosed by thinking I can pick this up at my local EB?

ok i cant say this will be the same as other games but heres what happened with anther sony game....

They released a new upgrade for EQ, and like a good boy i went down to EB and GAME etc to try to buy it only to find out that it was sold out (all due to pre-orders). They only comments that i got were that there were no more in my area at all, and infact i had to wait for almost 2 months to get my hands on it....

Seems that SONY only released a few to open purchase over here in the UK, it was a deliberate move to control the number of people playing the upgrade at the start....

I had real problems finding it in the shops and eventually had to buy it on-line.

I hope that there is not the same going to happen here with PS, but i think that SONY are very clever at marketing and controlling the market, so it may be that they will only allow a specified number on sale, and release more over the next few weeks/months to maintain it at the top of the best sellars lists...

or am i just being paranoid?

Well, like you said about the EQ upgrade, don't expect many "open buy" copies. I think that they don't want everyone and their mother buying the game, going home, start it up and have all the servers at full capacity on release day. Anyway, I'm getting really excited to see what the final product of Planetside will be.
