How do you think it will be? Say your stranded and need a ride, think anyone will give you one? Or will it be like the FPS mentality where people say screw off - my vehicle.

I personally am hoping its a better community than the latter, given its an MMO and people are paying to play. Hopefully this will create a better enviroment.

So, what do you think?

I have always wanted to be a dropship pilot ever since I saw Aliens as a little girl I would have no problem going out of my way to pick someone up, and during the slow times I most likely will be trolling around, looking for people to pick up

I'd also go out of my way to pick people up but I can't guarantee that I won't accidentally run them over while trying to pick them up.

Oh and Hamma? How was the flight model when you tried out PS? (I did a forum search, did not find updated info, so if I am asking a redundant question, feel free to flame )

Was it akin to T2, or were you able to roll and such?

I can neither confirm nor deny my desires to fly a Galaxy upside down, full speed, five feet off the ground

I think you will be surprised at the friendlyness of people once they learn the concept of the game.

Alot of you probably havent played RTCW..but Ive been playing it since it came out, and thats why PS appeals to me.

RTCW made teamplay a necessity..something that no one has ever done before..not even counterstrike or TFC.

in RTCW..one lone wolf can mean the game..so people either learn to play right..or get kicked off the server. Because of this, people have learned to help their teammates whenever possible... and I think that once people learn that PS is the same way..they will start doing the same.

anyway, most every vehicle has a gunner position.. people would be pretty stupid to drive someplace without a gunner.

I know personally..I will get certified with buggys, the Basalisk..and the Mesquito at the very least. So i can go solo on the basalisk when i feel like it..can drive buggys when Ive got some friends with me..and can take a mesquito if i need to get some place in a hurry.

The whole pay to play thing, does it reduce the amount of nEWbs? PS will be the first pay to play game I'll have played... I'v played all the Delta Force games, and the amount of nEWbs there is insane, not to mention the cheaters

nope..newbs will still run rampant.. and unfortunatly..people still pay idiots too..so there will be plenty of them as well.

N00bs are not really much of a problem, anyone who wants to get anywhere in this game will have to at least put some effort forward.

And it seems to me that the smacktards will be kept in check, they have gone through a lot of trouble to make this an enjoyable game

Of course, the hardcore jerks will cause some damage, as always, but I doubt they would get very far. TKing ten people means squat when the assault has two hundred members

For the most part the pay to play will eliminate some of the "less serious gamers" There will be some but if someone isn't into the game they aren't going to pay to play it.

I know I can trust whatever group I play with and the people from the forums here. I'm thinking about being base D and I'm sort of worried about lack of action... I don't see bases being under constant attack... and there's only so much you can set up in the base...

The game mentality will most likely run as this:

"The more, the merrier!"

Why, you ask? Simple: the more people you have helping you, the greater your chances of winning. Any damage they do to the other side - even if it is only one kill - is more than it would have been without them.

The only problem is running into TKers. I wouldn't have a fear of this though because the game will be PtP and the rules will be strictly enforced.

I liked Tribes 2 for the amount of help you got. If you had the flag and were running back, you'd get guys coming to help you. You'd get cooler guys even giving you their vehicle.

I hope things like that happen here.. but as a safety precaution i'm in an outfit. It pretty much guarantees people helping you out.
