Today, I got to see first hand the effects of the Matris, here are my impressions:

1. CHAOS. Period, sheer utter CHAOS. The amount of people going for a base was... insane, absolutley maddening.

2. Defind the PLACE of battle.

3. Pace of Combat was INSANE. I downed in My REAVER:

2 Galaxies
4 Reavers
1 Mosquito
3-4 MAX
15+ Ground pounders
3 Harressers
1 AMS
and a Wriath.

Went from BR1 to BR4 (or 5) I cant remember it was that fast. Mind you this all occured in about a 30 min span or so. THAT fast. It was insane. I eventually CTD so I quit. (Okay, I cursed cause I had the targets about 20 feet away, and the game froze, which woke my daughter up and FORCED me off...)

4. LOVE my NEW reaver gun sights, MUCH MUCH MUCH better, Props to the Devs

5. Like the Sancuaray Lay out. Again, Props to the Devs.

I liked the changes they made, but i think introducing the lattice/matrix system was just a bad idea.

Everyone wanted a way to add depth to the game, everyone wanted a solution to the phantom hacker. The lattice system was a drastic change, maybe too drastic?

I must be missing out on something. I didn't gain a single battle rank when I was there

Maybe it's because I somehow think that the Pulsar is one uber weapon duders

No. It may or may not need a little tweaking, but I am very happy with its current state. It makes a bit more predictability to wars, letting people fall back and establish defenses at a base they know is next on the list. Previously it was a cluster shag of people scurrying around all over the continent, hacking a quarter dozen bases at a time, while not actually defending a single one. Frankly, I'll take larger and more intense battles over a bunch of phantom-chasing any day of the week.

The Lattice/Matrix idea is a great one, as it gives many things: (1) time to prepare defense or alert other squads if you are spying on a convoy approaching...(2) fixes the phantom hackers, which from I hear is annoying as heck...(3) lets an infiltrator run ahead to scope out the attackers and disable defenses.

The Lattice/Matrix idea makes it alot more like real warfare. If we left it with the old idea, people could pop out of nowhere with about 50 tanks and wipe out the whole base in an instant.

Well this is what warfare is like. just remeber, it will be a whole lot worse when planetside is released and thousands of poeple join.

Just out of curiosity, were are all these massive battles taking place?

I think the idea was well thought out, and I see no flaw in the design. The battles are indeed much more intense. I found myself crowded in the air with a dozen other friendly reavers, as my squad's galaxy hot dropped onto a base. We actually had an army and a fleet. When we moved on to next facility, we found the battle. I had never been downed so fast in my reaver before. Missile lock! Missile lock!

Question:

With battles centralized, choke points established, and an actual war going on, how will this affect experience gain? Will it be too easy to reach BR20 now?

An anti-social n00b who goes out and hacks a facility by himself, avoiding any facilities that actually have people.

Can we say pointless?

So they just go out to nowhere and hack a base?
Do you get EXP for it?
I see that idea behind the tactic, gets you're side a base easy.
But where is the skill in that? And I really get into the spirit of the game my self.

I'm not a beta tester, and I don't know jack shit, but from what I've heard reavers are owning massively. I mean it's a 1 man ship with weapons for anti infantry and anti vehicles and apparently from what i've heard owns everyone. Wouldn't it make more sense to make it a 2 man vehicle? Pilot controlls the machine gun and the gunner controls a 360 degree rocket launcher?

Oh, and there is no problem with people getting to br20 too fast. The easy solution is to just adjust how much experience a soldier gets per kill/caps a base to make it harder to get to higher levels.

Edit: Vicchio, is all this massive chaos and ownage a good or a bad thing? This is a guess (and i don't really see anything in your post that gives negative/positive feedback), but are you saying that you think that battles are too large and insane respawn fests?

I personally like most of the things the new latice system has brought on. The battles are emence like they were meant to be. I went from BR4 to 6 in one session on the XP of nothing but kills (cause the capture XP system is f***ed up). I shot down one gal, 3 vangaurds, i don't know how many harassers, a bunch of maxes, a couple reavers and a mosquito. It was crazy, and yeah, the new reaver sigth is much better. The radar still needs work though.

Anyway, the caos will begin to organize when VoiceIP is implimented. Right now it's just too fast paced to be typing orders to squad mates.

You are wrong M. Vic. Planetside was a great name back when they thought of it before this Lattice thing. Game names are rarely changed. Anarchy Online does fit the post lattice Planetside very well, however.....
