Third Person Camera, B and C Exp Questions

When you go into third person view, is there a way to move the camera around so you can see your face? Or is there anyway to see your face? If not are all those screenshots being taken by people not seen in the SC?

Ive heard lots of answers on which exp does which to your char?
Which one changes your armor color and which one changes your polygons?

Las Question, does anyone else have problems with the SOI's being white on the map? All my SOIs on all of my maps are always white, making it very hard to see what empire controls a base, i have to zoom in and look at the emblem on the SOI. These bases have power and are inhabited.
