Defense=Fun

*I would like to start this off by saying that I do think that there should be more incentive for defending bases, although there is a pretty good system set up right now. *

For all of those people out there saying that there is no incentive for defending a base, your wrong (or at least when it comes to me ). You incentive is fun! Recently, I had a blast defending some base on some continent (not sure wich). We where being flooded with hordes of VS. Spitfires are wicked awsome, if you don't place em out in the open. They have yeal weak armor, so place them behind wall and other natural barricades so that it doesn't start fireing on the victim till they pass it. That extra couple of miliseconds it takes them to turn araound makes all the difference. Decked out in my cloaking suit, I took out 2 enemy AMS. I just can't wait till I get Adv. Hack so I can steal em instead of blowing em up. Had one paticularly intresting expeirence with a magrider. I had mined both entrances to the base, just as I was finnishing, a Magrider come in and runs over on of my mines. He sees me with my repair gun out and thinks, "Hehehe, easy kill!" He starts to speed towards me, looking to run me over. I quickly placed a mine at my feet and jumped out of the way. Buh bye magrider!
I have had more fun defending bases then I ever had assaulting them. When I get tired of the mine bizz, I get my infil. suit, knife, and melee implant, leave the base, and get behind the attacking enemys ranks. The one thing I love doing is taking down some sniper or long range AV guy on a hill because he never expected somebody to come from behing.

Yeah, im looking forward to defence too. My plan once i get the game is to spend about a week on defence working on my dueling skills and learning the strengths and weaknesses of weapons. Once I feel I have a good grasp of the mechanics THEN ill go out and start looking for professional squads/outfits to join.

o yeah baby finally someone else that finds the joy in defending a base

i just think its so fun to hold one base against hordes of the enemies

i just get a good vibe from defending
and the werid thing is in Tribes2 that was my role in my clan was a base defender

i dont know wut it is but i just enjoy defending 10x more then attacking

^^ Hehe... he mispelled "Defense". Nice post tho, I can't wait till retail to check out playing D, it must be a good feeling to know you have beaten the odds when they are against you

Defense is the way to go. I love chillin in the base you just acquired and waiting for the incoming attack from the enemy. Then once the enemy comes, crush them to the ground. Doesn't get betta than that.
