Why are the NC down in population? Is the MAN keeping them down?

Seriously,

What is it that is keeping the NC rercuit base down? (According to that poll) What is it that is making them less appealing? I know the Vanu guys really like the tech. What's making the NC less appealing to the masses? Is it colors? Could it be the shot guns? People think they have no long range weapons? Let's keep most of the comments above the belt . I'm curious. Don't bring up the rocket scientist geeks who are posting the queef code.

i dunno why. NC have no downsides it seems and even their story is better imo. i personally am going to be NC right off the bat then experiment from there.

Well a lot of people don't like slow powerful guns over the rest.(me for one, shotguns are ok but i prefer nearly any other gun.

)

Some don't like their backstory. (me again, getting freedom by crushing others isn't the best thing)

And those colors aren't the snaziest.

In short it's simply a matter of personal choice, some like them others don't.

Those polls don't mean a whole lot anyways. I would guess that 75% or more of the people who will play the game either A. Haven't heard of it yet or B. Don't want to waste time reading about it until its released.

I should have clarified, I know that the poll isn't scientific, but it is interesting that they are behind. I immediately picked them. I just wonder what it is that is keeping people from jumping on the bandwagon. Just curious. I know most of the people flooding the forums now and in the next few months won't have a clue. There should be a fact site, with *proven* facts about each Faction. That would be cool. I know there is sorta stuff like that, but it would be "nooberific".

I had a tough time picking between the NC and TR. I really like the Judge Dread look of the NC, but in the end the High ROF of the TR guns won me over.

I chose the Vanu because they seemed very offensive to me, which is my style of play. The NG seem like very strong defenders, opposite to my style, and the TR, well they are just communists. =P

Well... TR troops look fairly cool, seem to pack massive firepower, and are portrayed in a way that they seem rather balanced.

And say what you want about the purple, but VS troops have great-looking armor, unique weapons, and seem oriented towards mobility and flexibility.

Meanwhile, what's the NC have? Ugliest armor in the game? Check. Ugliest colors? Check. An entirely one-dimensional playing style? Check.

Don't get me wrong, I have every intention of playing NC, because that single dimension of play style they'll offer appeals to me, but I'll really pine for the VS mobility advantage (especially since I want so badly to play a jump trooper).

Personally, I just have this feeling that most of the servers are going to see the TR and NC forming some sort of unofficial alliance against the overly-populated VS. I mean, is there any doubt that all those damned 1337 kiddies are going to flock to the VS after release?

Polls give a general idea of what the public thinks and so far looks like TR is going to be the bigger populated one. I don't think people are going to go straight to Vanu because for some reason they see purple and think "OMG gay color! I'm going to be the r337 black and red" 3/4 of the people are basing their choice on empire by what the colors of the armors are.

oh and are you sure about that? it doesnt sound correct "choosing because of color" im sure people arent THAT ignorant. especially the ones willing to pay monthly for a fps game. not just casual gamers will do that ya know.
