beta hosted by fileplanet not for everyone?

My friend downloaded the beta from file planet and went throught the process of getting a key for the install and creating a station account, but he said there is no way to play planetside without a beta tester login. This doesn't sound right to me. Why are all the sites making it sound like anyone can just download the ps beta and play it?

You should just have to enter your station name and account to suscribe your beta and become a beta memeber. Thats why so many people had to put them in in order to play. You want access to beta boards, dontcha?

Yeah thats what i said, but apparently his station account doesnt get him into the planetside servers.
