This is a question on net lag, not vid lag. I have 256k up/down dsl, and it tends to suck. I get pings like 120-150 on good cs servers. I mean it's constantly changing, it goes from 120 to 180 to 102 to 210 to 97 etc. All that in about 3 seconds. Anyone know if i would lag at all in large battles? I mean I can handle 200-250 pings, but once it gets into the 300 range i get annoyed. I live in Minnesota, so what server would i get the best pings to?

In PS net lag = vid lag. I was "vid lagged" all today because of massive amounts of players. The net traffic caused the game to hitch and slow because it was processing so many player locations.
It was not frame lag due to too many people on the screen because it was the same in populated and unpopulated areas and I adjusted all my vid settings to test it. So sometimes frame lag is caused by net lag. |
