Unhappy Video Card has 0.0 RAM?

I went out and put together a new computer for PS (Used to have P3 600). Here's my specs:

VIA P4X400 AV49N Shuttle MB
P4 2.4BGhz
512Mb Corsair XMS PC3200
80Gb WD Special Edition HD
Chaintech GeForce4 4200 Ti 128Mb
SB Live! Value
WinXP Home
Latest nVidia drivers

The problem I have is I'll hit the 'Play' button, it'll flip to full screen, then crash out and say that PS requires a video card with at least 64.0Mb RAM, and mine has 0.0.

I ran dxdiag and it fails on Step 8 of the Direct 3D Test, which mentions something about a memory error.

I thought maybe its overheating, because I'm using this old Gateway case that's made of some sort of hardened steel. So I took the side off, and put this large fan I have (About knee high) to blow in the case.

That didn't solve it either. I went back to the Microsoft Certified drivers, that was a no go too.

But... After a few reboots, it worked. I've played PS about 3 times now (18 hours), and it ran pretty smoothly, but I'd rather not have to fight to play. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

That's a new one. I'd run DXDIAG again to see if you get the error again. If you do, you might want to have the card's memory modules looked at. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause such an error...

Simple, theres a problem with your card, if its in warranty get it replaced, if not..get it fixed or buy a new one..

At least it soudns like a card malfunction.

Oh Yeah

My friend just reminded me of something very important: My Power Supply is 200W. Right now I've unplugged my CDs & extra hard drive, so I"m down to the bare basics until my Enermax comes in. This time it worked on first boot, and dxdiag works, so...

Uh, yes. New power supply is definitely in order. It's possible the RAM wasn't recieving power. Get 300W AT LEAST.

I have seen this 0.0mb ram error before. I use a PNY verto GeForce4 MX 440 under Win98. When the game used to crash to desktop and I attempted to restart, I got this error. Normally, a clean shutdown of windows and rebooting fixed it for me temporarily (Until the game crashed/froze again)
