the best empire?

A bit of an open ended question this i guess but i've been lookin round to see which side i wanna pledge my allegiance to!

has anyone had any experiences of the different sides? differences in weapons/tactics/speed/etc!! I'm tempted by NC at the moment... big guns

mmm.. downloading the beta is taking ages

Dont ask questions liek which is the best empire, because a person is gonna respond that their empire is the greatest. The truth is there is no "best" empire. There are empires that currently have an upper hand on theserver but none of them have better equipment than the other. Its all about the player and their style.

TR MAXes own NC ones, dunno about Vanu though. To me there's nothing really appealing about NC.

TR is the best as far as low level players. Their dual cycler max (3 cert points) and cycler rifle (2 cert points) are both amazing weapons. Their assault rifle is also very good. Overall I think they have a slight edge in closed in areas like base captures and defense.

Personally I prefer VS.. Lancer, hovertanks... hmmmmm goodness.

No but really i think all the empires are basically balanced and it depends on the player. Pick the side that u think looks the coolest or has the weapons that fit your syle of play

Right now TR has a slight power edge. Their DC MAX acts as both a very effective AI max as well as an effective AV MAX which makes it kinda tough to kill unless you gang bang it pretty hard. Other than that the sides are pretty well balanced

I don't like the Terran assault mini-gun..it just cannot shoot straight in a sustained role..I'm not willing to pay 4 certs for a gun that I can only effectively unload in someones face...plus all the space needed for ammo can be better spent.. I mow down NC just fine w/ my Cycler.. I like looting NC Gauss rifles once in a while since they use less ammo to get the same job done, but they have quite a kick to them.

bah maybe a noob NC, a NC max with scattercannon will own a TR with our shields, all you guys get is better aim which really dosent matter much in a close-corters fight

Base defence against organised VS max units is VERY tough. I was defending from a wall when about 5-7 VS Max jumped straight over the wall and pulverised everything on their way to the cc.

I love the mini chaingun... Just dont use it outside at far distances, works great in close quarters. Even on outside battles u can use surge and flank right up to the enemy and whip out your mini

TR - " Fighters for peace " also called " Opressors " by New Conglomerate .

NC - " Fighters for Freedom " also called " Rebels " by Terran Republic .

VS - " Errr ... Human hybrids or somethin' like that fighting for their own race or ... blah " also called " treehuggers " by me

I think the most important thing is play the role you like , if you are undecided and want to test weapons and other things ... Play beta and then you choose .

Seriously, it's DEAD on accurate, even from a rediculously far range. Whereas my snail mail VS comet orbs travel at around 1 mile per millenium, the bullets on the dual-cycler travel at lightspeed and do around the same damage
