Signal Frequency Problems

I have a system well beyond Planetside's specifications (512 RAM, 1.7 GHZ processor, radeon 9700, windows 2000, and a multisync fe971)

Well, after I play PS for about an hour, I get a blank screen and this error message.

ATTENTION
Signal frequency is out of range
FH> 28.7 KHz
FV> 36.0 Hz
Please change signal timing

and then I have to reboot. I've checked, and some other people have had this problem, but not with a radeon. Please help me
