This is a modified map of cyssor. It's a simple concept of what I envision as an urban fighting area. I used cyssor because it's a continent I become familar with in beta. On top of the mountain you see a gray area. This represents an outpost. The red crosses are landing spots for planes. The black building is a command bunker with a CC in it. The yellow circle centered on this outpost is indicating radar coverage. The dark red circle in the middle is the radar dish. This outpost allows you to see any plane that is flying inside the radar coverage. As long as you have a base linked to this outpost you can get the radar feed. The gray area on the island that normally has gunuku is city like landscape. The black squares are buildings. The two buildings at the top and bottom with red squares are where towers used to be, but are replaced by a building. These buildings can be mulitiple story and the spawn tubes can be top or bottom, a mixture woudl be good. The central building is the base. It's like a destroyed skyscraper with about 6-7 floors left. Underground vehicle terminal, roofless buildings for reaver/mosquito spawning. Streets line with rubble and holes in the roads every now and then. Buildings with chunks shot out of them and snipers hiding in the upper stories. Grunts going house to house advancing with tanks in support. Stuff like that. The bottom gray area is an airport. this is where you spawn galaxies at. Vehicle terminals in the hangers for making planes. The rest of the bases should be modified to reflect small town like areas. Have the base be the focal point but be surrounded by houses and such. Turn the entire contienent into a big city. The bases would be the scattered towns and the central built up area is the island gunuku was on. Have hospitals here and there with medical stations you can access. Armories with equipment terminals. Stuff like that. There's alot that can be done with this concept. I'm just tossing out a real quick preview of what I see could happen. |

Omg, it does. lol
I never noticed that before. I just wanted to make a runway and well, as you can see my artistic skills are about the same as picasso in kindergarden. I did manage to get this one posted on the SOE boards before I got suspended, it only got a few replies before it was washed away. |

You should put multiple bases inside a regional urban area, I think. Put in sewage levels that run between the bases for some real fighting in the dark, since nightime doesn't get there. Then we can fight from bases and towers that are dispersed by city blocks.

The three empires have been fighting on a world that has been colonized. I'd say cities would be a part of it.
There's no cafeteria's, bathrooms, bunks, civilian vehicles.... pretty much nothing other then the bases and towers. It's a pretty drab world really. There is SOOO much room to add new stuff into to make it feel normal. *rant on* So instead of working in implementing this missing content what are the dev's doing? Watching exp rates because they screwed with the system and never tested it. Obviously it's the thing to be doign though *rant off* Anyway, in a year or so the game will have radical changes. It will get more fleshed out and more immersive. Either that or they will tack on another 25 levels and add in alternate cert advancement that takes double the exp you need for level 20. These alternate certs will allow such things as increased jumping, added implant, up to 10 extra certs, stronger armor, more health or increased inventory storage. Heck, maybe they'll go both routes. I don't know. It just irks me that the focus of the game was shifted from fighting to exp on day one. I always figured they'd leave it as fighting and use content to keep people playing. Anyway, I'm starting to rant again so I'll stop. |
