Amen. EXP is only for getting off the ground. Once you spread your wings in whatever class you happen to be, EXP takes the bench to actually having fun.
EDIT: in response to Hamma. I hate it when people post when you're typing...

I will continue to power-level, using the non-exploitive activities that yield the highest experience until I get a few more levels and can play however I want without worrying about my certs. I still think their system is shitty and it rewards the wrong things, but it's their game and I'm tired of complaining about it, so wtfever.

I'll probably stop after a month or so if the exp isn't changed. There will be more MMOFPS coming out soon enough now that there is on. Surely one of them will realize the game is about fighting and not use the exp treadmill carrot to retain players.
As for the power leveling thing. You get in a squad that wants maximum exp. Find a continent your winning on. Spread out the squad so you have people at every base. Make sure you setup an AMS in each SOI where your fighting at. Assist your other teammates with the hack. As soon as resistance ends move on to the next base. Basically you leach off a full squad or more's base capture and you get exp for it. Instead of only getting one base exp though you spread out to get as many bases as you can. When you start to lose on a continent pull out and head to a new one. Defending nets you almost no exp so you dont' want to do it. Follow the caps around and just rack up the exp. |

I am currently using the Mosquito, because the best experience is one step ahead of the zerg. The key is to find the next base that will be attacked and survive in the SOI until the zerg washes over the base. When the hack is in on your base, wait until there is around 10 minutes left, then move on to the next base. Avoid Squad Leader position at all costs. If someone promotes you (be on the lookout for this right before a cap), promote someone else quick.

Actually, I probably won't play at all in the next month. My suspension wont' be off till wednesday, I think. Wednesday morning at 0530 I have to be in Nashville at the MEPS to get my orders to go to Texas. The next month or more will be spent getting adjusted to my unit and back into the swing of being in the infantry again.
I went ahead and bought the game now because I figured with the beta exp we saw I could get to 16-18 before I had to leave and then when I got back I woudln't have to worry about getting certs and just playing the game. Boy was I ever wrong on that plan. |
